Hi! I have a couple of questions... My husband and I are going on out FIRST (!!) cruise on the Carnival Miracle Feb 3rd, 2008. Our ports of call are Colon, Panama, Limon, Costa Rica and Belize. Does anyone have any suggestions for excursions at any of the ports??
I'll be 14 weeks pregnant at sail time, so a few things are out... My husband does not really care (and therefore not helpful), except he wants to see ruins in Belize.
Has anyone heard of, or had any experience with, My Friend Mario in Panama or Belize Cruise Excursions???
We will be on the same cruise! I have booked a trip through the myfriendmario.com website for limon and belize which are much more reasonable than ship offerings. I am pleased with the paperwork and confirmation they have given me. Our excursion in Limon is the canal/canopy tour which wouldn't be approp for you being pregnant. Through this website link for belize I booked a nice snorkel tour. They are very specific with instructions for meeting time and place. Good luck!
The tender ride from the ship into the port at Belize was really bumpy when we were there a few years ago. The driver wasn't taking any care to make it smooth!! Just a FYI so you can be prepared for it and try to cushion the bumps a bit for your little one.

On that same itenerary, I enjoyed the following shore excursions.:
Panama=The Panama Canal Tour, travel though parts of canal via a ferry.
Limon Costa Rica=Caribbean Train, Boat, and Bus Expereience
Belize= Xunantunich Mayan ruins
PAST TRIPS= Enchanted Capri
Carnival: Inspiration, Legend, Valor, Destiny, Holiday, Triumph, Splendor, Fantasy
HAL: Maasdam twice, Statendam, Oosterdam
We went with Charlie Soto in Costa Rica....had a private tour and the boat ride along the canal to see the sloths. We've booked him again for our Jan 18th cruise to go to the Dole banana plantation and the sloth sanctuary....can't wait!
