Default please I need your advice...

Hello,
I want to surprise my parents again with a cruise , this time to the Caribbean.
but I don't know which 'side' to choose, the western or the eastern.
they never been in the Caribbean before, and I want them to have a great time. they don't like to swim or to golf. my mom really likes shopping . they cruised with Princess Diamond two years ago and know the options are Carnival Triumph (Eastern Caribbean: Miami, FL ; Half Moon Cay, Bahamas ; St. Thomas, USVI ; San Juan, Puerto Rico ; Grand Turk ; Miami, FL ) or Liberty (Western Caribbean: Miami, FL ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ; Ocho Rios, Jamaica ; Miami, FL ) or Valor (Western Caribbean: Miami, FL ; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ; Roatan Island, Honduras ; Belize ; Cozumel, Mexico ; Miami, FL ).
the cruise supposed to be in June 21st or 22ed from Maimi.
I'm looking for stateroom with privat balcony, my agent offered me a room with privat balcony on the upper floor yesterday, is it good?
please any word of wisdom will help.
have a great weekend, Liat.

tough to chose from those great iteniarys; however, since your mom likes the shopping and they don't do the swimming; I would narrow it down to the Liberty sailing:

The eastern is the way to go, for the best shopping islands.....Lots of stores to choose from....The western is more geared for water enthusiasts.

Make sure you look at the deck plans to decide if you like the location your ta selected ...See what is above and below your cabin, for noise factors....Mid ship is a good location for getting around the ship, close to elevators too.

Good luck in your decisions!

I have some friends who went on the Triumph last year and they told me that the ship was in bad need of a make over, and i 've read that on some reviews too. The Liberty and Valor are the newer ones.

I've been on the Triumph and the Liberty, the Liberty is much nicer. The Liberty use to run an 8 day eastern itinerary that was very nice. If you're not locked into those dates you might check it out. Which I think would give you a nice newer ship and a nice eastern itinerary.

My vote is for Triumph with the exotic eastern. Half Moon Cay is paradise. If they don't do water much, their is deck chairs on the beach. That place is a little slice of heaven.

St Thomas is good for shopping and the best part is you can shop right by the pier. Grand Turk has the cruise center for shopping too and you just have to walk off the ship.

Now, you don't have to do this route on the Triumph only. The Liberty/or Freedom also will do this route. I will be on the Liberty in September doing the same route the Triumph did last September.

The Eastern Caribbean has great shopping. The prices in St. Thomas and St. Martin were really reasonable. The islands are also VERY beautiful!!!

If you decide to do the Western Caribbean, Cozumel has tons of shopping, also.

You'll have a great time doing either!!
