Default Atlantis in Nassau

We will be on the Valor in June are wanting to visit Atlantis for part of the day, but also want some beach time. Carnival offers an Atlantis excursion, but it doesn't look like it includes use of their beach or pools.
Has anyone done this excursions or have other suggestions?

The beach is free. It is Paradise Beach. If you want full access to Atlantis, you can rent a day room from the Comfort Suites and that will allow you access to the entire property. You really need a full day to make it worth paying for the day room in my opinion.

Thanks BW, that may be exactly what we are looking for. I assume I should call Comfort Suites and make a reservation ahead of time, or do they offer day rooms without reservations?
also, what is the best way to get there from the ship?

I would book it in advance if you have your heart set on it. It is a very short taxi ride. Atlantis is a very large complex, so wear some comfy shoes if you intend to see and do it all.

Through Carnival you can use all of the Atlantis facilities including their beaches, pools, waterslides, etc... Carnival charges $150.00 (yes $150.00, not a typo) per person. I just came back from Nassau yesterday and met someone on the ship who did this directly through the Atlantis hotel and got charged $100.00 per person and said is was a lot of money but it was an experience of a lifetime. I'm sure you could contact the hotel directly for details.
