Default 1st cruise since little kid. Liberty 2-15 couple questions

I have a few questions I hope someone knows the anwsers too.
1st about the ship bar credits. They say they are only good for drinks $5.25 but I'm sure the frozen drinks cost more. Can you use a bar credit and pay the difference if the drink is more then $5.25 or do the bartenders just let you use for any drinks?

2nd. Colon, Panama any suggestions what to do there?

Good morning and welcome to Cruisemates!!

Yes, you can pay the difference on the drinks. They just get you to sign for it, and it will appear on your sign and sail account.

I have not done the Panama trip yet, but I have been told to do the Carnival ones. The train sounds good, but also there is a bus, and maybe even a boat trip, that you could take.

We used the bar coupons on our last cruise and were only charged the difference on a drink once while on the Lido deck. Used them on that same type of drink everywhere else and were never charged above the coupon price. We'll be using them again on our April cruise!

Take the Panama Canal Tour. It is the best excursion my wife and I have done on any Carnival cruise.

The bus takes you from the Colon 2000 dock on the Atlantic side to a large ferry on the Pacific side. The ferry takes you through the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel locks and part of the way across Lake Gatun. There you meet your repositioned bus and return to the Atlantic port.

The trip takes you through three of the six locks and that is plenty.

We can't recommend this excursion highly enough.

Have not been on the excursion mentioned above but it sounds like a real winner. We were on the Carnival Elation when she went thru the locks as she was being repositioned to San Diego. If you get a chance to go thru the locks take it.
