Default Back from our first cruise!!

We sailed on The Fantasy 1/21 - 1/26. We enjoyed it so much that now we are already looking at booking for next year!! We did have some very rough sailing, even crew members were getting sick.
We got the patches from our doctor and that helped alot. I found that staying in the cabin made it worse, so we just got out and walked around, even if we did walk like we were drunk. Being out help keep our minds off of it.

I miss my room steward and our waitress, They treated us like royalty. I sure wish I could have fit them in our luggage and brought them home with us.

Progresso was not as bad as we thought it would have been. To anyone going, buy alcohol and cigs at port. They are cheaper there then in Cozumel. We waited and then kicked ourselves later.

Cozumel was very busy. The water was beautiful and snorkeling was great.

All the information everyone on here gave us was so helpful. Thanks!

Can't wait for my next cruise!!!!! 8)

So glad you had a good time. Too bad about the rough seas but I think that is typical of the New Orleans Western Itinerary.

Now just shopping and wishing will have to hold you until your next cruise.

Happy cruzin'

glad you had such a good time

i hate that you had rough seas...sometimes that is just unavoidable...and by the time i get off a ship i'm stumbling around at least a day or two

so tell us...are you just hopelessly gloriously addicted??

BECKYSOAP,
I think it had to do with going down the Mississippi River then into the Delta then the Gulf. Once we were well into the Gulf it was not bad at all. As long as we kept food on our stomachs we were fine. We used the patches and they did help us. We are not letting a few waves hold us back as we are already looking to book for next Jan.

We live in Missouri also and chose New Orleans because the drive is not bad. We are thinking about trying Galveston next. Where are you planing on sailing out of?? That may make a difference.

Welcome! We too are addicted.

And I agree with your thinking on the water. We have sailed 4x to date and our first was the toughest - out of Tampa. All others were right into the ocean. Much smoother.

Enjoy the shopping and preparing for the next one.

We sail in under 3 weeks on our next one. Can't wait. Need to start packing.

Safe sailing.

The Mississippi is not so bad you feel the side thrusters because of the turning and manuvering along the river.

New Orleans was alot of fun, of course they were getting ready for Mardi Gras while we were there. We ate at NOLA which is Emeral Lagasse's Restuarant, it was very good. We had to walk along Bourbon Street and of course have a couple of drinks.

We got to the ship terminal about noon and it went pretty quickly. We did not spend alot of time in line and our room was on the Empress deck right when we boarded the ship. The ship is an older ship, but we had a great time. We miss the staff they were wonderful. We are thinking about going on her again next year after they upgrade her.

We took a bus into Progresso just to walk around. The beach was not very nice but we did eat some good food while we were there. They are cheaper then Cozumel.
