Taxi's in St Thomas Info

We are looking at a tour that says they take you all over and than it ends in the cirty center at the end of 99 steps shopping and that YOU are responsible to get back to the ship. Has anyone does this and about how much is it?

You will have no problem getting a taxi back to the ship when you are finished shopping. We have always used the taxi for this but I can't remember what the cost was. I know it wasn't a whole lot. Have fun in St. Thomas it is one of my favorite ports.

Thanks, we say one has a ride back but thought some time would be nice and than just take a cab when we are ready.

Taxis from downtown Charlotte Amalie to Havensight where the Carnival ships normally dock are $4 or $5 a person. These taxis are essentially trucks with bench seats with an awning over the top. However, they get you there.

Plan B,
The wife and I did that tour in 06. Our tour guide took us on a scenic view of the Island, and then onto Magens Bay. :) After Magens Bay, we went to the castle where the steps are. thats where the tour ended. We walked down the steps, and a block over, we decided to catch a cab back to Havenssight Mall. Taxi's are plentiful. So no worries there. I can't remember the fare either, but its not much. :)
You'll enjoy St.Thomas. If time permits, do the skyride. :)

Happy Sailing to all; :D

The Valor is a beautiful ship. We had wonderful service, and great food all week.
To avoid the long lines at the buffet line, or the grill line, eat early. (Ex. If breakfast is served @ 7, be there at 7. And the same with lunch.) You'll be glad you did. LOL

Would I sail on her again :?: You bet :!: Enjoy your cruise, and St.Thomas. :)

Happy Sailing to all; :D
