Hi there,
I am new to this board but love all the tips everyone provides.
I'm leaving on a Carnival Cruise to Mexico out of San Diego on March 5th. I am confused with all of the electronic documents now instead of paper. Where do I go to print out my baggage tags? I've clicked on 'my documents' and 'funpass' and can't find them anywhere. The only thing I haven't completed in the funpass is my credit card information. Do I have to add this before I can get access to my baggage tags? I'm worried about entering my credit card information because I was afraid they would activate w/ my deposit for the sail & sign card.
You don't print baggage tags-they will mail them to you. I suggest not putting them on though until you get to the port since they tend to rip off easily. It is cardboard with a rubberized string attached. Have FUN!
Not only that, but the information they ask for in the "online documents" in reference to your credit card, is only the last four digits, the type of card, and the expiration date of the card, so they don't have the full number of your card, until you check in at the port.
Have a great cruise.
When you go to the "online documents" look and see what page the luggage tag is on (maybe page 10). Just print however many you need, but make sure it has your room number on it if not you will end up reprinting.
Print them in color and get some packing tape to lamanate them. Then take a hole punch and plastic zip ties to secure them to your lugggage..

eDocs seems to be the future. If you follow the directions on the baggage tags you'll have no problem.

My luggage tags are different; cruising March 1st... The tags I got with tickets seemed like they were printed on card stock paper and cut out and shipped to me. They were not like the colorful tags that I'm used to getting. I'm not sure if the policy has changed or the tags have changed, but the tags I got for this cruise seemed to be, No Frills.. lol

The tags this year were different, like the other poster said, they were made of card stock and were in the ticket book itself. We also waited until we were getting ready for the terminal before we attached them to the suitcase handles.
On the last night of the cruise, you will be given another luggage tag with your zone number on it. The zone numbers are how they call the passengers during disembarking.
Having just sailed Carnival last week, I have to say I don't like their new luggage tags. They used to come in an array of bright colours, so as to make it easier for sorting luggage at the pier. Now they are all the same, dull colour, but have different numbers on them. Instead of calling your colour to disembark the ship, they call your number. Also, these tags need to be stapled or taped to your luggage handle, instead of elasticated fasteners. Didn't like that either. We asked a Carnival representative about this at embarkation, and they told us the changes were made to "make it easier" and to save money.
We are cruising April 13 on the Victory Yay!!! This is the first experience with edocs. They are not showing up yet on MyDocuments - with 64 days left. Can anyone tell me when they usually are available for printing - should I be concerned yet? I would really prefer the old method of getting everything in the mailbox.

Have you filled out your funpass yet? As Kuki said you have to do that first. Check out your reservation on Carnival site and there will be places where it will show whether certain areas are complete or not. It is mainly filling in blanks. I hope you have a passport or can get one in 60 days. You will need that information to fill out a section. If you are used to printing things it isn't that hard. This is the first cruise where we have had the option of doing it all on the internet and I find that I don't mind. If this is an area where they can save money rather than another more important one such as service I would rather it be on the documents. It was fun getting them in their little booklet but I can do without it.
Try it and if you have trouble come back to cruismates. Most everyone is happy to help. Everyone on cruisemates wants everyone else to have a great cruise. I think using the packing tape is a good idea as we have printed the luggage tags and it is on regular paper folded into threes and as such is a bit flimsy. I might put the info into my ID on my luggage to be safe. I can hardly wait for our next cruise which will start in just under 60 days.
I had card stock printing paper that I printed mine on and it worked great and I also laminated them with the laminating sheets you can purchase and I will attach them with plastic ties .
You don't print baggage tags-they will mail them to you. I......... Have FUN!
On my last Carnival Holiday cruise we printed out our own luggage tags.

We have had the FunPass completed for some time now, and still no documents showing. How long before the cruise date do they usually appear. Thanks for the info.

How long has it been since you completed the Fun Pass?
Carnival just recently added two sections to the Fun Pass process asking for CC info and accepting the Terms and Conditions. Make sure it still shows Fun Pass completed.
I made my reservation with a Carnival person and when I checked my reservation section on the Carnival site the next day they were there. I think I filled out the fun pass that night after I made my reservation but the My Documents section wasn't available until the next day.
I am assuming you went to the Carnival site and logged in with your password which then pulls up the site that lets you continue with finding your documents. I think you can still have them send things to you but in that case I believe I read where you would get them within 30 days of your departure.
We sail on Sunday 02/17 and I see no where under my documents on carnivals site that you can print your baggage tags. Can anyone tell me specifically where they are?

If your sail and sign info is complete and you have done the agree to contract you go to view documents and it will popup a window creating doc's and it should be on last page of it all info has to be complete to get your doc's where it can be printed
I figured out that Carnival's website and Firefox do not get along very well. Showed no signs of blocking a pop up. So went to IE and there it was after figuring out thru some help texts.
