Default Galveston Fog socks in Conquest

Looks like the fog may be delaying the Conquest again today. They have had more fog delays this year than I recall for any other year.

Sure hope they can get out soon, but it has looked worse in the past hour or so.

We were at a restaurant in San Leon, overlooking Galveston Bay, and could not believe how fast it rolled in! It came all the way across the bay in about 10 minutes time! It seemed to be a little better when we left, but I see the Conquest is still at the pier.

Looks like she pushed away from the pier at about 6:45. Bon Voyage! Wish I were on her!

It looked like it, but the lights just changed to fool us. I can still see the lines still tied down

You got that right. It was about 5-6 weeks ago that she didn't get out until the next day and then a few weeks ago it was about midnight. At least they are on board.

I assume the Voyager is behind her and we just can't see her.

Default Wow

Sorry Darlene

I started having 2nd thoughts as I didn't see any action and sure enough refreshed the browser and she's gone. I guess it did get away at 6:45. Thanks.

Can't believe a watched a stuck browser for 20 minutes. Sorry I missed it.

I bet they will get to Jamaica just fine, a couple of hours can be made up in the two sea days.

The Voyager sailed about 10 minutes after the Conquest.

Snoozeman, I was just looking at your future cruises! Color me jealous! Also, aren't you also booked for the Blogger's GC? I'm sure I'll book something for this fall, but I just haven't decided on a cruise, yet.

I can't believe I missed them sail. I like watching them on Sunday evenings. The feed was refreshing, but just quit on me. I was also on an online poker site so I'm guessing that messed it up.

Yes I'm booked for the BLOG2NOLA and the followup cruise. As far as the fall I'll see if Alaska happens. I'm not keen on flying. I've had it booked before and 'chickened' out. I've only sailed from one port other than Galveston in quite a few years when I did Adventure out of San Juan lasy year. It went well so maybe I'll make it.

I understand how you feel about flying to the port of departure. Last December we sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale. It is so convenient having the port in my backyard. I want to do an Alaska cruise, but will probably wait until we can drive to the NW.

One of my favorite activities for a Sunday afternoon is to drive to Galveston, have a late lunch/early dinner at Fisherman's Wharf, and watch the ships sail out. Not quite as good as being on one, but still very nice! Today we were in San Leon. We always tend to go to the water!

Darlene and I know first hand about being caught in that fog...

I just got off the Conquest yesterday. We left on time on Feb 3rd, despite having heavy fog in the morning both ships were able to get into port. There was no fog in the morning when we got off the ship, it was a bright sunny (warm) day. The fog must have rolled in later in the afternoon.

I enjoyed the cruise the adventure to get to Galveston makes me think going out of Miami/FLL is easier!
