Did You Book With A TA or Carnival?

This is a question that I always love to ask. It is also what many of you have probably thought of, before you booked.

Tell us what you decided.

I don't think either way is the best 100% of the time. Just do your homework and pick the one that seems to work best for that particular trip. I have got super deals from my Carnival PVP and she is extremely helpful with any issue that may arise. That said she does not always have the best price.

I booked straight through Carnival.

I have done both and had good results.

Did it once myself on a back to back with Amtrak, and it wasn't pretty.
Now, I always use a TA.

I also use a TA. Actually I have had more than one. I tried going through Carnival, but he never called me back, so that wasn't a good sign.

I have heard both good and bad, about TA's and Cruise line. I think it has a lot to do with what makes you feel the most comfortable.

i have always used Carnival (since going on my own in 2006) and have always had good results...but i may try a travel agent at some point

I booked my Carnival Splendor trip (which will probably be canceled) through Carnival and the 2009 Bloggers' Cruise through Cruisemate's TA Nancy.

Of my seven cruises so far, three have been TA's and four have been Carnival. As someone said, do your shopping.
