I know this has been addressed before, but wouldn't paper documents be better as it seems the luggage tags are a little more sturdy??
Ya can get plenty of luggage tags to your hearts delight at the pier.
We have cruised NUMEROUS times without any "paper documents", last week on our Elation cruise we just showed up at the pier with an email receipt, we booked the cruise the MORNING of the sailing. You just fill our a credit card slip while checking in and give them your family contact info just in case of emergencies, that's all that there really is to it. Canno tbe any easier or simpler than that! We were on the ship within 10 minutes of entering the terminal.
I think we have not had any paper documents in over 4 years!
I noticed a difference with the paper documents we got for the cruise we just got home from. The package was thinner than it was and the luggage tags are pages you tear our. The paper is thicker for the tags, but still, not in color. Electronic documents give you everything and you can print as many luggage tags as you need.
Clear packing tape works, it's tricky to get right, but it works. I choose to use some label covers that we have a surplus of from work. I used around five or six per tag and it held up well!!!!
