Carnival Miracle vs Royal Caribbean Liberty your choice????

Looking for some advice and input. We’ve booked on the Carnival Miracle (Western Caribbean) and also the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas (Southern Caribbean) for this October and can’t decide between the two. It’ll be the first vacation without our kids And, the DH and I looking to celebrate our empty nest (both kids away at college). Destination is of no real importance to us, just having fun and some R&R on the ship.

We’re loving the newness of the Liberty along with the state of the art attractions on board; ice rink, climbing wall, wave surfing, etc. And, the balcony accommodations are larger in room size and also balcony size in comparison to Carnival Miracle.

But, we’re skeptical of the passenger size of the Liberty nearly 2,000 more than Miracle

Any input and suggestions from folks that are familiar with both lines and ships would be greatly appreciated.
