Default Masked Mardi Gras Ball On BLOG2NOLA

T.C. made an excellent point on another thread about the Mardi Gras tradition at our formal balls, which is wearing mask

Kuki..can we have a Mardi Gras Ball one night on the cruise where everyone can dress up and wear mask

I have a really neat one that was made for me when I was in Venice Italy portraying Casanova

Mel.. it's a good idea.... but John has beaten you to the punch.

Though nothing is set in stone yet, he IS planning an event with masks for everyone.

As I've tried to stress before, it's just too early to plan group events until John has all his events planned. I do exchange email with John all the time, and we will know well in advance what and when the "blogger's events" are. And then we'll plan our CruiseMates group events around them.. so everyone in the group can participate in both.

That's the reason the PJ party and Slumber parties that we've announced already are only late night events..... It's highly unlikely there will be bloggers events planned for late in the evening.

Kuki, Kuki, Kuki, Kuki!

It wasn't Mel who had this idea .... it was Venice ..... after I brilliantly pointed out the benefits of wearing feather masks with your feather boa

I can see now - you may put in boa restraints!

No problem!
By the way, my baby boy - who is now 28 - is having his engagement party tonight! After 4 years together he finally asked my darling future daughter-in-law to marry him. When they told me I said in true momma fashion .... "It's about time!"

my bad

should have known greater minds exist in the universe :::

Kuki, you do know that there is a great history story behind why in New Orleans there were elegant Carnivale Masked Balls during Mardi Gras season don't you ?...it had to do with race, economic class, and mistresses

Venice...

We could ask the ugly ones in the group to wear their masks to dinner every night

Kuki...point of clarification..you are saying that the beautiful people that have ugly mask can wear them (mask) to dinner every night correct not the other way around ::

fyi...is this a full charter of John's friends or is it John's friends and other cruisers that have absolutely no idea what is going on

If there are lots of people that are not a part of John's group..make sure our women wear full robes on the way to the PJ party so they won't be talking about CruiseMates on YouTube :: (then we will all really need our masks)

This is not a "charter". In fact to book to be part of the Bloggers Cruise people have to book with a specific promo code to be included in the Bloggers amenities.
Now.. the Bloggers could buy out the ship, but we'll have to wait and see.

On Bloggers 1 there were 3300 onboard, but only 750 were bloggers group.

As for the PJ Party... last time we did one we had about 100 people in our CruiseMates group. But the next day many other passengers were asking the cruise staff why they hadn't been told about the great pajama party last night. It was pretty funny

I can only imagine what the Red Hat ladies and their entourage from the Turkey cruise will come up with for this mask thing !!

Mel.... U had better get busy. FOR SURE there will be "some " event where masks will come into play. John IS going to include that... I'm not sure if it'll be a Mardi Gras Deck Party or in his pre-cruise event... but it will be.

Honestly, I don't want to keep "putting a damper" on plans people bring up, but I also don't want people torn between choosing on attending our planned events or an event John is planning.

I'm really just trying to ensure that everyone gets included in the fun at everything planned!

Sadly the cruise is ONLY a very short 5 days, and everyone should know they are going to leave the ship exhausted trying to fit in all the fun we're going to have.

I wonder if Carnival has informed guests that might not be part of the bloggers group about whats going on during this cruise. I would hate to be thinking about getting on this ship with no clue to see people all over with jelly beans, cans of spotted dick, and god only knows what else. I for one know I would be a bit confused and maybe even upset to not know what was going on and why things were reserved or not open to everyone. But i'm sure carnival being the great customer service people they are will send out a letter that will arrive by day 3 of the cruise . cheers all

Nope, I'm sure not. And they encountered problems with that on the first bloggers cruise. People found out and when they heard there were gifts and drinks went to say they were signed up all along

This time though they are using a special code for bloggers bookings. If you arent booked with that code they won't allow people to change onboard.

If one tried they could actually book this cruise cheaper than the Bloggers prices, but would not get included in the bloggers events.

Carnival says they are charging extra for the Bloggers amenities.

That is very true. I actually did have this cruise booked at a lower price thru my Carnival PVP using military discount. Tried to transfer that booking to the outside agency but discounts were not compatible. Ended up canceling with carnival and rebooking with Nancy.

That is exactly right April. Everyone booked with us has booked as part of the official Bloggers group, and our additional amenities are a BONUS!
