Default Booking through Travelocity (or other website)

What limitations will I experience by booking through travelocity? I have only booked direct through Carnival in the past.

For example, I will be booking two staterooms. Do I work with travelocity or carnival to ensure that these two rooms are seated together for dinner?

Thanks!

When you book with an outside agency Carnival will not work with you on any issues you may have. You will be directed to contact the people you booked with.

That's what I was afraid of. We had to do a special needs form last cruise as well for a health issue and it was very easy to work directly with Carnival.

Thanks!

Honestly I've found there's no benefit at all to booking cruises on Travelocity. If you shop at all I think you'll find their prices amongst the highest, and their service mediocre at best.

Too many other good options out there.

You've got that right. They are normally the most expensive. However, today they had the best deal. When I get home, I'm going to give carnival a call. Perhaps the room that I'm getting the deal on now is part of the sale beginning tomorrow.

Thanks all for the feedback!

You folks are great!

I don't mind being corrected on this, but my TA tells me that any TA can get the same pricing as any other TA (if so inclined).

One caveat to this is the TA's who book large blocks of cabins and sell them at group rates. Even then, a good TA can fight for good pricing for seniors, past pax, etc.

So far, my TA has been able to match and (sometimes) slightly beat any online special that I have found.

I should add that we have only done Carnival products and one RCL (Celebrity).
