Default Any "must see" in St. Lucia and St. Kitts?

Howdy all,

Wife and I will be on the Miracle in 2 and a half weeks and am anxious to
visit these two islands that we have never seen. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Check out Cosol Tours for St. Lucia. It was the best $50pp we ever spent. They take you around the island showing the various local stuff. Stop at a banana plantation for ripe bananas, stop for coconut cookies, stop for a sampling of the local fruits of the island, stop to show you various trees, stop at the water falls with johnny cakes and chicken, stop at Jaliousa at Pitons for a 45 minutes snorkel/swim, stop for hot bread and cheese sticks, stop at an overview point for pictures.

Most of the stops you could sample a shot or two of rum punch, the local beer, water or cokes. We were so full and feeling merry when we got back to the ship.

Went to both islands last April on the Carnival Legand. Had soooo much fun.

St. Kits - Didn't make any pre-arranged shore excursion as we were going to just shop and wander around. Really nice port shopping area. Right after we got off the ship we, of course, were approached be a taxi van driver asking us to go on an island tour for $20/person. We told him no that we were going to just shop. Anyway, he talked us into going by saying surely you are not going to spend the day in St. Kits and not see the island! Even guaranteed that if I did not enjoy the tour there would be no charge! St. Kits is beautiful and we had a wonderful time. We not only paid but included a nice tip. We heard on the ship that others had the same great experience - so I highly recommend an island tour from the locals (not pre-arranged).

St. Lucia - Do not do the Pirate Ship excursion. Big waste of money unless you just want all the rum punch you can drink. Two guests literally had to be carried off the ship after our excursion.

I too agree on the whole island tour of St. Lucia. On St. Kitts try the steam train ride through the sugar cane fields up the mountain.
