Default pre cruise plan

I would appreciate any comments and suggestions about my precruise plan (Also if there is anything I left out that I should plan for or do let me know:

This is a honeymoon cruise for July 2009 on Carnival Victory. We have a category 12 suite room # 7306. Does anyone know if the cat. 12 suites have 2 sinks?

My plan is to get in to San Juan the night before and stay at the Hotel Milano and have some dinner nearby. We will likely get in late so we probably won’t do to much the night before. The next morning we plan to attend mass at 9:00 AM at Catedral de San Juan and then head to the pier around 11:00 AM since we have VIP check in I have heard we can board the ship early (Is this true?) After we board we will go to the Lido deck and eat then look around. Once the room is ready we plan to unpack and then maybe hit the pool or do something else fun on the ship. We asked for the early dinning time and I plan on asking for a table for 2 since this is our honeymoon. (Can I request a table for 2 before we go on the cruise or should I wait until I get on the ship?)

Also, I plan on ordering some decorations and maybe a bottle of Champaign for our suite. Does anyone know if Carnival does anything special for honeymooners? We’ll probably catch some of the evening shows and watch the sail off from our balcony at 10:00 PM.

(If there is anything I should know about the Carnival Victory let me know)

I will now go over my plan for each day, let me know if you have any suggestions (each day the ship goes to a different island).

St. Thomas:
We get into St. Thomas at 7:00 AM. The ship leaves at 5:00 PM. We plan to watch the ship sail in and then eat some breakfast on the balcony. Then we will get off the ship and take a cab to both Meghan’s Bay and Coki beach. Then we will probably go back to the ship for some lunch and then get back off the ship and do some shopping in the town. (Does that sound like a good order to do things. (beaches before lunch and then shopping?). After shopping we will probably head back to the room and get ready for dinner. After dinner we will likely go see some shows and maybe dancing.

Dominica:
We sail into Dominica at 10:00 AM. The ship departs at 6:00 PM. We will likely go to the dinning room for a nice breakfast and then go back to the balcony to watch the ship come in. I plan to book a tour through the ship called “Pool & Falls Nature Tour? Here is a description from Carnival:

Experience Dominica’s natural beauty on this excursion of the Emerald Pool and Trafalgar falls.
On this combination excursion you will:
• Visit Morne Bruce and enjoy the city of Roseau from a 400-foot elevation.
• Continue on to the botanical gardens and see some of the world’s most exotic trees and birds.
• Arrive at Trafalgar falls for a fifteen-minute hike to the viewing platform of the majestic Trafalgar falls and surrounding rainforest.
• Proceed to the Papilotte hotel for a refreshment break.
• Continue through the city of Roseau and the Springfield Valley for incredible views of the neighboring cliffs.
• Take a fifteen-minute walk into the heart of the rainforest.
• Visit the enchanting pool with its fifty-foot cascading waterfall.
• Continue down to the tropical green valley through the coastal fishing villages of Mahaut and Massacre.
If for some reason this excursion is not available I wan to do something similar that goes to the Emerald Pool and Trafalgar falls. (Anyone have any suggestions or know anything about this tour?) After the tour we will get ready for dinner and then go see the shows or go for a swim. Or maybe try out the whirlpool tub in the suite. (Does anyone know if the tub is nice?)

Barbados:
The ship arrives at 8:00 AM and departs at 5:00 PM. I’ll probably go get some food for breakfast from the buffet and eat as the ship comes in. Here we plan on doing the Atlantis Submarine through Carnival. We plan on doing this as early as possible (When you sign up for excursions do they usually have multiple times you can sign up for?) and then spend the rest of the day on the ship eating, swimming, and playing trivia games. At some point we would also like to play the newly wed game (Does anyone know how we should go about doing this?) My wife may also go to the spa and I may go to the casino. Any suggestions on good spa treatments or casino games?

St. Lucia:
The ship arrives at 8:00 AM and departs at 5:00 PM. Here I plan to book a tour independently with COSOL tours. Has anyone else done this? Is this a good idea? What time do you usually meet and what time does he get you back to the ship?

Antiqua:
Here the ship gets in at 8:00 AM and leaves at 6:00 PM. I plan to get the excursion through Carnival called “Sea Antiqua by Sea?. Has anyone else done this? Is it a good excursion? Does it run in July?

St. Kitts:
The ship arrives at 7:00 AM and leaves at 4:00 PM. Here we plan to take the “scenic rail tour? through Carnival. Is this a good tour? Can you take it at different times during the day? When is the best time to take it? Other than that we will probably spend the rest of the day on the ship.

Then on the last day we will disembark and go back to mass at the Catedral de San Juan at 11:00 AM for and then hopefully check in to our room at El Convento. Is this a nice hotel. I plan on getting Pablo Cassals suite? Any recommendations? Also, what should we do with our day in San Juan?

I have had two Cat 12 suites on the Smokefree Paradise and only one sink - sorry. The Cat 12 suites do have bathtubs, though.

Congratulations and enjoy.

As soon as you are on the ship go to your assigned dining room and make your table request to the Maitred'. One other thing you might consider is the later dining time. This trip is very port intensive and you may be rushed to get back to the ship, get cleaned up, see the sailaways, and still make it to the dining room on time. Just something to think about.

If you have a later dinning time will you miss the evening shows?

Oh my god, I have never seen anybody plan so far ahead and with such detail. How are you going to make it until 7/09? The only advice I have is to leave some time to do unplanned things. In other words "just wing it". If you plan too much you may not get to do everything you want to and disappointment may set in. You let Carnival know youre honeymooners and they will take care of you. Honeymooners are on virtually every sailing in the industry so they are happy to oblige. You can make plans with them ahead of time but its always good to confirm once youre on the ship. Good luch with the adventures.. both the trip and the marriage!

lmao....you are having a HUGE elaborate wedding aren't you??

Seriously, I think you are packing WAY too much into this trip then you need to. By the time you get done with your huge wedding, get to the airport and fly to SJU the only thing you will want to do is sleep. Trust me. Honestly, just slow down, everything will change when you get there, just book the cruise, book the extras' and don't worry about it. Carnival will probably have new options by then also.

Good luck. We had a medium wedding and it was a pain...if there is a next time it is definatly going to be 5 people on a beach.

Please please please.... this is your HONEYMOON.... relax and enjoy.... don't overschedule yourselves....After stressing over a wedding, I think all I would want to do is take in the sights on a come as you may basis and have some enjoyable cocktails. Topping my list - make sure you ask people to take photos of you together or else people will wonder....

We were very gracious to a couple honeymooning in Cabo two years ago. The most fun me and my husband had in years. They were there using a timeshare they received as a wedding gift and we were there for the first time. They had "fun" together, drank, drank some more, beached it, pool-ed it, did all the fun stuff Cabo has to offer and the icing on the cake for their honeymoon was that we took them as our guests marlin fishing. Need I say more other than that the high point of their honeymoon was the fishing trip! We made some lifelong friends and so did they!

Take time for yourselves.

oops - one important thing... if you like your cocktails, set aside $1500 for your sign and sail as a precaution. Do you know that your friends can get you funship dollars for your honeymoon....

I make a copy of my flight itinary, my cabin number and my Hotel name and phone number(if going the day before) and I give it to a family member.

That way they can see where we are if they have to get in touch with us for some emergency.

I also make a "to do" list of things I need to do before I walk out the door. I won't forget anything if I have a check list.

If there will be no one at your home while you are gone, you may want to make sure there is nothing in the fridge that will spoil. Check all doors and windows and put a timer on a lamp.

If you have every day scheduled so tightly you might be setting yourself up for disappointment. Absolutely give yourself some leeway. Go with the flow for at least part of your vacation. Sometimes the best things are the surprises not the planned part of your day. Also, I'm not sure but your ship may not have tables for only 2 people. Fascination doesn't. I tried to request a table for 2 people thinking I didn't want to spend time with other people and it turned out to be not that bad!!! As soon as you board go to the dining room to try to make arrangements. congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default We just got back from Dominica!

And it was one of my favorite places that I have been. Just be prepared, it rained pretty much the whole day we were there. It is the rain forest, it rains a lot, but that is what makes the island so lush and beautiful. We went to the falls, all we did was walk thru down a path for about 10 or 15 minutes until we came to the falls. There I think it is pretty much wet, we were soaked. It was nice.

We have also done the Atlantis sub, my husband doesn't swim so that is his way to experience the ocean. He really likes it.

Your plan sounds good, but like others have said, don't be too rigid in your schedule, you don't want to be stressed trying to keep up with what you have planned, you want to relax.
