Default Changing rooms within same booking

Hello Mates, We are booked on Triumph sailing 3/15/08. Our travel agency booked the room for purposes of discount with My father in one room and my mother as booking other room. There are also 2 other people going on the same booking, myself and a friend.

How would we go about changing rooms and putting my parents in same room?

Would carnival switch room keys at port or do we have have to do this unofficial and I switch room key card with my father while on board... not really wanting to do that option.

Thanks, Hope all that made sense.

We are doing that same thing for the purpose of a discount. We have over 20 people who are involved in this. I was told by our Vacation Planner, to just go to the purser the day you board, give him all the cards that are to be changed and he will change the cards and have the correct people together. I have a list for him so he can just look at it and change it.

I was told that this happens all the time for the discount.

Thanks Darlene

Do you think they would do it also at miami port when boarding or should it just be done on board at purser desk?

I hope I am answering this correctly...

We are all boarding at Miami with what we have. We will then go to the Purser after we are all on the ship. If we are early and can't get into our cabins, then we will do it then. If we can get into our cabins, then we will put our carry on luggage in the cabins where we "should" be with our husbands/others and go to the Purser's desk after that.

All of our luggage will be moved to where we are then by us . I do believe that the luggage will go to the cabins where the orginal cards are listed for and not to where we want to be.

I know this sounds complicated, but I will make sure that it works for us.

We did it @ the port so we could directly go up to our rooms!

kelzbelz:
Do you mean you changed all the information when you first got to the port before you boarded the ship?

Last year we also booked rooms according to discount. We asked when checking in at the port to switch the rooms and they directed us to the pursor's desk to do it. We went there directly and they switched the rooms and gave new room/sign & sail cards. It was no problem.

However, this year, we wanted to switch 2 rooms - no discount involved - just switch 2 rooms/couples - was rudely handled by Carnival customer service and then told by our TA that if we were to switch rooms we would have to give up the room and hope to get the same rate in the switch - I was so mad - something so simple and they just couldn't switch the room.

Sorry, had to vent! But in the switching rooms at the purser's desk, it was no problem!

We did this just this past Jan. on the Ecstacy. We booked two rooms myself, and SIL in one room and DW, and DD in another. This was their first cruise, and we were able to get a better discount this way. We explained what we wanted to do at check-in, and they fixed it right on the spot. It all depends on who is willing to help. At least you should be able to do it at the pursers desk, no problem.
Enjoy
Gary
