OK silly question...since moving to Portland a couple years ago, I have become Ms. Spoiled Coffee Snob. I think regular coffee is included but specialty is around $3-4; is that about right? Just wondering if maybe I should bring my own beans and brew my own in the cabin...I know, how geeky is that, ?
I don't know about the specialty coffee, sorry, but the regular coffee is included and I thought it was good. I am pretty picky about my coffee. The hot chocolate that you get in the buffet is also very good.
Hi
I think the coffee on the ships is pretty good.
No coffee pots in the room to make coffee.
You can drink coffee from the time you get up till
you go to sleep.
Coffee all the time on the lido deck, you can have
it delivered to your room and you can have it at
dinner.
Free Coffee drink all you can...

We won't even mention the ice cream and frozen yogurt machines that are available in the Lido buffet 24 hours a day!
...the hard thing for me is gonna be avoiding all the meat, eggs, and dairy...went vegan a couple months ago but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be making some exceptions that week.

I understand, but there is an excellent salad station with all kinds of fruits and veggies on it and the buffet has a great selection of non-meat dishes that will keep you happy for the week! The DW and I really miss all of the fresh fruit we had for breakfast while on our cruise. We can't afford to eat that much fruit now!
I am not 100% sure. I remember there were all kinds of sweetners at the end of the coffee area...even Splenda, but just don't remember about the flavored creamers. Heck, most days I am lucky to even remember my name! Senior moments abound!

As a fellow NW'er, I have to tell you the regular coffee is not very good. The coffee in the dining room and delivered by room service is OK, but on the Lido deck it is horrible. Only creamer available, that I ever found was cream, no non-dairy or flavors. You used to be able to get the espresso's and Latte's in the dining room for free, but that may have changed. If you are really desparate, check to see if the islands you are going to has a Starbucks, we found one in San Juan. Let me know if your NW standards are the same as mine

My standards are probably worse....I have grown to hate Starbucks, but if it's the only thing available I'll take it over cheap restaurant coffee.
Stumptown is my favorite but there are so many other awesome roasters in PDX. Come on across the river and check it out!
I see you went to Baja on the Elation in Feb...how was it? I'm going at the end of May and this will be my first. Thanks for the coffee feedback, my NW bud!

Starbucks is not my fav either, but works in a pinch. My fav is Dutch Bros. and until recently could only be found in So Oregon, but just got one in the Couv. I will check out Stumptown sometime when I am working in Portland. Thanks for the tip. Pretty sure now you won't be thrilled with the coffee!! Maybe you will have to resort to coffee nudges, after few, taste is no longer an issue! 8)
Also, the date on my Cabo cruise was a typo, dont go till the end of April. I have been on a 7 day to Mex Riv though, and loved it!! This one is April is just a stress relief until the big family cruise in Oct. Actually going all alone in April, going to be interesting.
I agree with Teri. The coffee in the buffet is bad news, but the coffee in the dining room and room service is quite good. I never saw any flavored creamers, (I don't even use cream) however there are all the usual sweeteners available. The hot chocolate in the buffet is very good.
I personally love the frozen yogurt 24X7. GREAT!
I thought the coffee was good but it being in those plastic mugs (Lido Deck) was leaving a lot to be desired....next time I'm taking my stainless steel tumbler.... 8)

Yeah Dutch Bros is pretty good, there are a couple on my way to work. I really like their service.
re the typo; I'm going to Cabo on May 31 by myself and a first time cruiser! You'll have to let me know how solo friendly it is.
Like anywhere else wait till they replenish the urns for the freshest brew they have. Also, you may want to pack a thermal travel mug so you can fill it and carry it around with you so you dont have to keep going back for refills. Then in the evenings you can spike it with a little Jamesons for that Irish coffee drink you were craving!
