Default Rooms at the elevators

I just got my room on the Valor. Upgraded to 4E. Right along the elevator. The reason I say along and not next to is because all
the inside rooms go front to back , but ours is turned to run along the elevator. Room 8431. How bad is that going to be?

We like having a room close to the elevator.

Most folks say they never hear the elevators at all so I don't think they'll be much of a disruption.

As a matter of fact I'd say you have a fantastic cabin! You're right below the lido buffet and aft pool. Literally one set of stairs from all the fun ENJOY!

We had a cabin that was 1/2 way between 2 sets of elevators.

The long walk got to be a pain in the butt.

We are going for closer to the lift next time.

The only thing I can see that might be a problem is the music from the Lobby deck that they have every night, If you go to bed early, before midnight, then you will more than likely have someone singing you to sleep every night. The music is not rock concert loud, so don't worry.

I had Cabin 7269 on the Conquest (same class as Valor) and we enjoyed the music as we went to sleep each night (which was early because we were usually up before 7am).

I never go to bed early and don't sleep much at all. And most of the time I enjoy music so that could be a good thing?

I agree with the music being a good thing. Although, do you think it would be heard on the Verandah deck? That is up pretty far.

Thank you for your information

My first thought was this cabin will be around the corner and in an okay location. Then I looked to see what was above you. It appears that the men's and ladie's restroom along with the grille are above you. I am not sure if those areas will cause noise or not.

My question to you would be do you have a guarantee or can you change your cabin number? IF you can change your cabin number always try to be 3+ cabins away from the elevator and have a cabin above and below you. Happy cruising!

There are 26 of us and we are all in the AFT of the Valor on the Verandah deck. None of us will have cabins above us.

Some of us in in the extended balconies and some are in the inside cabins. We all love the fact that we are all together. We probably wont' be doing much sleeping that much anyway. It is a vacation...and we are there to party hardy.

These cabins are probably not able to be changed. I don't know???? I never did that before.

If your group is all together that is worth something and will make it easier. As a side note, if you have consecutive balcony cabins you can get your room steward to unlock the divider to give you a really long big balcony for late night balcony parties!!!!!! We did that several nights on our cruise and it was very nice. Just remember to close your curtains when you change clothes ... haha

Yes, that was our plan. As soon as we heard we have all 6 of those cabins, we found out that it can be on big party deck.

We are going to have to make sure that all would like to have their balcony opened up like that.

We booked IS, but most of our group booked all the very rear aft balconies, and the inside rooms right next to them . Only 3 rooms out of 13 were booked as IS , so Carnival did try to put the other 3 rooms very close to them. I am part of Redwith13's group. Guess earplugs might come in handy?

I don't think you will need earplugs, but there is a chance you may hear a late night flush or someone sliding something above you at the grille. You should have a great time! Enjoy!

I seem to remember a doctor years ago telling me not to sleep with ear plugs.

It was for more reasons than cramming them into your brain but I cannot remember what they were.

Ask and you shall receive...

Prolonged use of earplugs may cause earwax to build up and plug the outer ear, since it blocks the normal flow of earwax outwards. Therefore, it is necessary to clean both the ear plugs and ears between use in cases of prolonged use, e.g. when sleeping with earplugs. Otherwise tinnitus, hearing loss, discharge, pain, and infection might arise.

DO NOT USE Earplugs while diving However, you can use them while swimming.

Downfall to using earplugs while sleeping.... You MIGHT not be able to hear the smoke alarm or emergency alert.

Happy Day

Seek and you shall find:

Thank you LarAndShar:

The later was very obvious to me about not hearing things in the night. The first did not really pertain to the group, who will be using them for maybe one or 2 nights while cruising. This of course is depending on the snoring.

Some of us will be "bunking" with someone new. We don't know them well enough to know if they snore or not. We will be prepared if they do.

Thank again
Darlene

My wife clarified what the doctor had said.
Not to wear the type designed for a work environment as they seal tightly and do not 'breathe'. ...but wear the plugs made for sleeping.

Also, not supposed to wear them if your sinuses are acting up.

....something about an exploision.

Are there ones made for just sleeping? I didn't know that?

May husband, and both sons are Union Insulators and we have the ones they supply to them. I use that kind all the time.

I check out the web site. You are correct, there sure are many.

The foam ones are exactly the one we have.....and for free.

That's the best kind.

We always stay near the elevators and hardly ever hear anything except an occasional laugher.

Darlene,
It appears that I was all wet. I did not intend to alarm you.

By the way, I never use ear plugs more than once...the wax is just too gross to see.

Dan:
No problem at all. I do know what you mean about the wax though

I wash them and lay them out to dry everytime I use them.

Now, that really sounds like I have dirt ears

Ok, I don't but I do have clean issues...

ha ha ha ha

Default Elevator noise

On the Inspiration we were literally right beside the elevators and were worried about the noise before going. It was completely unfounded...we didn't hear a thing. In fact I think I slept better on that ship than I have slept on my other 2 cruises.

I think if you have any noise issues it will be from up above.

Have fun
