Carnival Sea Miles Credit Card

Does/Has anyone used the Carnival sea miles credit card program ? How do you find out how many points needed for free or discounted cruises.
Experiences etc ??

Just need the details on the points aspect of the program. Thanks,

I have the card, and it is not worth it. I do not keep a balance, so their high interest rate does not bother me. To use your miles you must book through them, and they take your miles off of the list price of the cruise. I can get a better price through just about anyone else. They also restrict what ships, and sailings the points can be used on. Better off getting a card with better, and simpiler rewards.JMHO

Citibank's Thank You points have $100 carnival gift certificates. I have used them in the past.

We have the card and used it to book our cruise in Oct. We used 50,000 points and saved only $400. Plus we are on the Riviera deck with an inside cabin with no possible upgrade. We had to make at least a dozen calls after we booked to get the $400 discount. We had to stay on them just to get a breakdown of the charges to see what we were really saving. We have stopped using the card and have another card that gives us cash back so we can use it to pay for our next cruise. If you have or thinking of getting a seamiles card...DON'T. If you have a card with miles and you try to use them...good luck. They discounted our cruise, not free cruise. Plus we had to pay regular price anyhow we are pass guest. From now on we will only book through Carnival and recieve pass guest pricing and upgrades when they are available. Hope our pain is your gain.

We too have the card. We don't keep a balance on it because it is higher. Have not redeemed any miles yet, guess we will see about that at a later date. I did notice that it is usually longer cruises that they offer the miles on.

I got the card aboout 2 years ago. After being promised that 20,00 miles would get me a free cruise I tried to redem the Sea Miles. Forget it. They would only give a small discount on a cruise which I could easily get thru any other vendor. I cut the card up and will never use it again.
Carnival should be ashamed to be involve in a scam like this.

We have had the card for 2-3 years and have finally earned enough points to take a 3-4 day cruise. Haven't tried to redeem them yet so I hope that won't be an issue. We had to spend A LOT OF MONEY to earn those points, let me tell you. And you have to earn enough to cover a booking for the entire cabin at double occupancy, not just one person. It was not worth it for us. It encouraged us to charge more 'stuff' in order to earn points; that's definitely not the right money attitude.

We have had a Carnival Credit card of some description since day one and it used to be very very good.

Sadly, over the years, we have seen it diminish into this mess that it is now. We used the last of our points and cancelled it.

While it is true that free is free, there are cards out there than give BETTER rewards for the dollar.

We are currently using the American Express Blue Sky card and LOVE IT!

It pays us $100.00 for every 7,500 points. We can use it on anything related to travel (airfare, cruise, hotels, car rental). It is EASY to redeem AND they gave us 30,000 points ($400.00) to join....which we used on our Imagination cruise in January!!
