off season

when is it considered 'off season" in the cruise industry, and is it really cheaper then?

Simple answer: when kids are in school. Different areas you cruise have slightly different "off seasons". In some cases, you can save around 40%

Usually in mid-late August through Sept. is less expensive in the Caribbean due to that being about the height of hurricane season.
We always manage a cruise in Sept. and get good prices then. :)
