Default DiningRoom Seating Arrangements???

I am going on the Inspiration in August with my husband and out two cousins. I was wondering how do they choose where you sit in the dining room? How many do they usually sit at a table? We didnt know if they try to pair you up with other couples or if we would probably sit with a family who has kids. Just curious and new to the enitre cruise thing so i will take any advice. Thanks!!

You should have been advised by your travel agent that you could request a particular dining time, and as well as that a table size.

Carnival, unlike many cruise lines, does note your age on your reservation. So they do take that into consideration as well.

We have been on 6 Carnival cruises and during the first few cruises my dtr and I were seated with a single man traveling with at least one child. One particular cruise we were seated with a man with his dtr and just us at a booth for four. That seating was uncomfortable for me so I spoke with the Matre D and he changed us to a table for 2.
Other cruises we have been at mixed tables of all ages and tables that seated 6 to 8. Going to dinner that first night is always interesting to see who they paired you with at a table.
If all of you booked together you should all be at the same table otherwise you may have to make changes.
Have fun!

We always tell our travel agent the time we want to eat and that
we all want to be together.
So far that has worked.

We go with friends and want to be able to visit at dinner.

You can request a table for two, and the preferred dining time, however these aren't guaranteed. Carnival will make an effort to fulfill all your request however. Some ships have a lot more small tables than others, and I think Sensation does have quite a few small tables.
I'd suggest that upon arrival to the ship, and receipt of your "sign-n-sail" card, that you note the time, dining room, and table number. Head for the dining room first thing upon boarding the ship, and check what you have. If you prefer something different, then immediately see the maitre-d (he's usually in the dining room at this time, just to help out with requests) and make it known what you prefer. Chances are excellent that he will be able to help you.
Have a GREAT cruise.

We traveled in Jan and they did seat us with the other couple that we were traveling with. We sat at a table for eight. Carnival paired us with another 2 couples that were also traveling together. We all became fast friends and we never missed dinner or a chance to chat with them.
