Default Bringing wine aboard

If I bring a couple of bottles of wine aboard, do I have to have them in the dining room, or can I enjoy them on my balcony?

One bottle per passenger is legal. By all means enjoy it on your balcony.

When you bring the wine aboard, can it be in your luggage or do you have to show it to them?

I took mine in my carry on and they didnt blink an eye. It made me wonder what else I could have packed. I will usually pack something a little stronger in my checked bags and as of yet have not been caught. The risk is part of the fun!

Each person can bring one bottle per person on board. You may also do this on each port you visit. You do not have to hide it, you can have it in your hand when boarding.

I do believe I read this on the board?

We are planning on buying a few bottles of wine and having the ones who don't drink wine carry a bottle on for us.

The edock boarding documents say one bottle per 21 year old passenger on embarcation day at the begining of the cruise only. Anything other than that probably just depends on who is checking and how strict they want to be that day.

Not sure though???

That is funny.

There is always some form of a question about wine, bringing boozon or board or buying drinks on the ship.

Default Not really a wine drinker but....

.....since it's our first cruise, and we have freinds on board also, I thought a nice bottle of Dom P. would be nice when we leave port.

My fiance' and I both are each always given a nice bottle of fine wine for the cruise from my grown kids and we both carry the bottle in a wine bag on board and no one says a word. We also take a few in our checked in bag and a small cork screw opener. The steward always brings us ice and wine glasses to have in the room and of course we tip him extra as a courtesy for doing so.

just on the Miracle Feb. 27. My wife and I brought on four 1.5L bottles of wine in our carry-on, and nobody said a word.

Default Bringing wine aboard

I read that you can bring 1 bottle per person at the start of the cruise but any bought in the ports must be handed in and it will be returned at the end of the holiday.

Does anyone know if 3 people can bring 1 wine box on board

If in your checked luggage, you can bring all you want.

If in Europe, they don't even care if it is in your carry-on luggage. There is no place to check alcohol even if you wanted to!

{ although they still won't let you purchase in the duty-free shop and walk out with it, unless the last full day of the cruise - or sometimes the night before }

Susan next time take a small wine opener and open the bottle in the cabin. I purchased one in the grocery store for a few bucks. I take a nice wine bag with me and carry the bottle to the dinner table each night. I tip the waiter alittle bit extra anyways so they never say anything about opening the wine bottle and charging me the 10 dollar fee. They do not serve the type of wine we like so we always take our own and the waiter is happy to get the small tip instead of Carnivals fee for opening the bottle.

I have simple tastes, so I took two bottles of my favorite white zinfidel which I bought at home with me on the cruise and drank it in cabin each night before dinner. One went in my carry on the other in my non drinking friends carry on. no problem the Cabin steward kept them cold.

Thanks Ro for the tip about tipping the waiter instead of paying a fee to Carnival to open the wine. The crew work very hard on those ships and deserve everything they get. susan
