Each deck (on most ships) have a laundry room and an iron for use there. They do not allow irons in the cabins.

Scubapete;
There is a service, and self service onboard. Just ask your cabin Steward and he/ She will help you out. Nothing is free though. They do a good job, and the self service laundromat is usually pretty good. They also have an iron, and board in the laundry you can use for free. I mean your wife can use for free

Have A Blast

Default Don't get me wrong

It's not that I am against ironing. But the first time my wife saw me do it, was also the last. (I guess she never read Tom Sawyer.) :evil:

Really? I was planning on packing ours, I didn't realize that. So, there are irons on each floor though?

I think that there are laundry rooms (with irons and boards) on every other level of the ship, not every level. The laundry service that you pay for offers washing and ironing but not dry cleaning services. I took 8 cruises before I broke down and even tried the laundry room. I didn't want to spend vacation time doing laundry, but had to on a 12 day Grand Med, since we were actually gone for 19 days total. This convinced me to pack less and, if I ran out of clothes to head to the laundry. The washers and dryers have a countdown digital timer, so you can check your watch and come back to get your clothes out. Thank goodness we are now platinum and can get free laundry service (although it is not very fast). I think I am going to pack for my April cruise without ironing at all and just press a couple of things at a time as needed on board.

Ok heres the deal:

Guests are NOT allowed to bring their own irons as they are a fire hazard. The launderettes as they call them have irons.

The ships have self service coin op machines ($2 wash $2 dry) get quarters from the pursars desk. On or about the middle of cruise Carnival will offer a laundry special. They will wash your underwear socks T-shirts but not trousers or dress shirts (In other words nothing fancy) for $15 the cabin stewart will give you a bag. It comes back the next day.
