Does anyone know if there is some place to stop between the FL Airport and getting on the ship to pick up some pop and distilled water for my CPAP machine. We will be traveling by taxi to the ship. I wanted to get a six pack of pop for my room. Carnival will sell me a gallon of distilled water for $3.50. I pay $.89 a gallon and will need about 20 ounces for my CPAP machine for the entire week.
Since taxis from the airport to the cruise port enter the cruise port at the south end, it's a short ride up Rt. 1 to the port and you might see somewhere to stop before the cruise port. If you get the taxi driver to continue up Rt. 1 all the way up to SE 17th St., hang a right and enter the port at 17th st., you will find a few grocery stores and a Walgreens right out side the port entrance to get your distilled water. However, what you pay in increased taxi fees may not be worth it, but that is up to you.

You could also go directly to the port via taxi and drop off your luggage with the porter and then take the trolley back to a grocery store. I saw on the trolley maps where it has a stop directly across the street from a grocery store. Do you need 20 ounces of distilled water for the entire cruise? Maybe you could drink a 20 ounce soda before you pack for the cruise and rinse it out and refill it with the distilled water you have at home and just pack that bottle in a zip lock bag and stuff in between layers of clothing and bring it from home.
Have a great cruise,

Which Amersuite are you talking about? I know there are a few in Miami. I have Google Earth the Amerisuite in the Airport West area, because that is the one we are staying in. Are you familar with that one?
We also would like to buy some soda and water for on the ship.
Darlene, Amerisuites is right on A1A in Fll, a good place to stay for people who don't want to rent a car, since this shopping center is across the side street.

This shopping center, located close to the Fort Lauderdale Beach and Port Everglades, boasts over 48 specialty shops and restaurants, including: Publix, a local grocery store chain; Carriage Clothiers, Ltd., an upscale men's clothing store; and Nature's Remedy, a health food store and juice bar. It's a great "one stop shopping" center where you can purchase a variety of items including groceries, clothing, accessories, gifts and of course, Florida souvenirs.
