Default Cabin Help

Hi everyone I have a issue I hope someone can help me with. My family and I are going to cruise the Liberty June 28th. There are 5 of us going. We have booked 2 cabins and here is my issue. My original cabin was a 9a corner and my kids and father in law were inside across from us. When I pulled up everything on line today the cabins had been switched. We are now up higer but no longer have a corner, just a "9A" on the side of the ship, and our kids are way down from us. My TA called Carnival as got no results moving us back or getting the inside closer. Do I have any other options left to get the original cabins back or get the kids closer? Should I call Carnival myself or just let it go?

Thanks!

I would call and find out why this was changed.

Your family should be together on this cruise.

Explain to them that you need the family together.

I sure hope they fix this for you.

You didn't say how you booked your cruise. Did you do it as a TBA or did you choose your canins?

We picked our cabins when we made our deposit. They changed them after our final payment was made.

They should not have been changed then.
We picked our cabins and if they would have been changed I would be on the phone right now.

Let your TA do it also. You need a reason for this change. Especially where you are moved to now and where your family is

You need answers! I myself, would not let this go

First question what ship are you on and what cabin were you orginally booked in and what cabin are you in now? How many people do you have booked in the 9A?

The cruiseline CAN change your cabin number if they want to, but they usually call you before doing so. Carnival has a tendency to switch cabins and not let customers know. As a side note, 9 times out of 10 they do tell the TA. Your TA might of dropped the ball here, or it could be a simple miscommunication.

Answer those questions and I hope to shed some light on this issue.

We are on the Liberty our original cabins were 6483 (9A) and 6479 (inside). We were switched to 8442 and 8428. We have 2 people in the 9A and 3 in the inside. In 2005 we had a 9A on the conquest and really wanted the larger balcony again since we were taking the kids and father in law. The balcony for cabin 8442 looks as to be the same size as a regular balcony just longer.

Thanks!

if you purchased your cabins (not guaranteed), I don't know how they can move you around.

Guaranteed means they can move you around any way they want. If your TA booked you guaranteed and you didn't know it, definitely call back and tell them you want specific cabins.

Okay just as I suspected, 6483 can hold 4 passengers and 8442 can hold 2 passengers. When you look on the deck plans 6483 has an * in it. That means the couch makes a bed and there is a bed in the wall that folds out. Someone called Carnival wanting a 9A that held 4 people because you only booked 2 people in a Quad room they moved you to another 9A that was a double so they could not accomodate the Quad 9A request.

I do understand your frustration with being moved from a corner 9A to a regular 9A. There is little you can do except raise a stink and hope to get shipboard credit or something. Usually Carnival is very good at disclosing the fact they can move you (especially on the 9As) when you are booking a double in a quad room.

I would find out if any of the other double 9As are available (ie 8448, 8455, 7445, & 7440). I did a quick search and it appears that 6483 is available, but that cabin is right above a lounge, so it could be noisy until 2am. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on that cabin for you. Good luck and happy cruising!

The same thing just happened to me on the Valor I booked the corner wrap on the Valor, and they switched me to a 9 on the side three weeks before we left .I was furious, I called them and told them I booked a year in advance, and I am not moving, so fix it, after several phone calls they did.
We did not have a sofa in either room so that was not the problem and it was just two of us. I think someone wanted the wrap
good luck
