Default Sky High Prices & Rough Routes:(

Looks like I won't get the usual non stop bargain flights to New Orleans, as I can get to Fll, from Boston. So far there are only 1, or multi stops on the carriers I have checked. Imagine it taking 9 hrs to get to The Big Easy:( OY!

The prices went as high as $700.00! Jet Blue is starting service from Boston to New Orleans in May..I guess I will wait till then to try and hope to get better options!

Trip..jump on Jet Blue as soon as the schedule is published..the fares are high because it's Mardi Gras season, but Southwest usually has a seat sale very frequently so get on their "ding" program

If you can handle 1 stop Northwest can get you there for about $300 rt. Not a blue light special, but not too bad.

Thanks to both of you for the heads up. For sure, I will be checking everywhere. Southwest does not fly from Boston, but Providence. I am really, equidistant, so I will check out that option as well. Jet Blue, will be on speed dial. xoxoxxoo

AirTran usually has pretty good prices. They don't have the February flights available yet. I keep checking. You might want to try them.

It looks like, just looking at the Jet blue, site, and putting in bogus dates in October, which is the farthest out they are booking now, the return flights are the pits, all morning flights, no afternoon, and then one flight at 6:45:(

So..I am still looking all over ......!

Default Rough Schedules

Trip, you are correct on air connections. It turns out there are no direct flights from any Bay Area airport to NOLA. The best I could do is one stop and try to avoid northern states where snow might be an issue, and yes the price was awful. TravelMike

I booked my air one week ago on Northwest......got a good deal on first class (cheaper than buying two economy seats as I tend to do lately for comfort) and now they announce the merger with Delta.....DAMN THEM! If my flights are changed I will be po'd! And I did take a chance with the 11:30 return time.......since I have a fully refundable fare and travel insurance, I can always catch a later flight or one the next day.

I am in shock, I just purchased 4 one way tickets from Chicago to London for a total of $1,084.00 I didn't think there were any bargains left out there, guess I was mistaken. I share this only to send encouragement not to give up. A few weeks ago when I was looking, the best prices I could find were over $2000.

I just looked at AirTran again today, too, and noticed the same thing. I also thought they were a little bit higher than normal. I'm thinking they just don't have all their schedules yet is why there aren't any returns. At least I hope that's the case.

Trip,

Just checked AirTran again. They have return flights posted now. Hope this helps. I'm hoping from where I live they will get a little bit lower. I checked returning on the 12th.
