Your recommendation for 7/8 day Caribbean Cruises in June
Hi Everyone... been busy getting estimates from movers..... but I have that nailed down. As we have beenpurging stuff (tossing or donating) we have boxes of stuff already piled up and we're not moving for 2 months.
Since I had to cancel my June 9th 4-nighter on Fascination, I'm going to treat myself to a 7-8 day cruises for NEXT June, 2009. That will help present my CCC (Cancelled Cruise Cry).
Is that a good time, weather wise, for sailing the eastern caribbean?
Or is the westerm caribbean better? I know it can't possibly be as torrid as the Bahamas was in late July/early August last year. I can't handle that sort of humidity/heat combo again.
Also, I really want an itinerary that does NOT stop in Puerto Rico.
Thanks for any insights as to the best cruise to take that time of year.
I will probably book in July/Aug after I'm settled in.
Michelle, we sailed the Eastern Caribbean last October and it was HOT then. I don't remember the humidity being bad, just the heat. We sailed from Port Canaveral to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten on the Glory. It was a wonderful trip. St. Thomas is beautiful and Paradise Point is just great. Our next cruise is the Western Caribbean, but not until Oct. 2009. Maybe somebody else will know about the weather in June.

We sailed on the Conquest (Western Caribbean) out of Galveston in June 07. The weather was perfect. The water was smooth as ice. We picked June trying to avoid the hurricane season. Starting next year, the Conquest alternates Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises. June is a good time to go, even if it costs more.
I'd highly suggest sailing the "Miracle" 8 day out of Ft. Lauderdale. It goes WAY South, and offers 4 sea days, two going, and two returning. It's very relaxing, a great ship, and hits ports that you don't commonly get to visit. St. Kitts, and St. Lucia. GREAT CRUISE!

Purging your house of excess stuff or junk, as the case may be is always a good idea you might want to hold a garage sale, and if you hold it Mid April I might just show up since I'll be passing through Chicagoland in a few weeks.

I think most of the Southern Caribbean cruises originate in PR. If you can stand transfering there and you don't mind a port intensive cruise you might consider it. However if you can get one from Florida all the better. I really enjoy the southern route

Ken,
I was just on the CCL website and don't see the itinerary you mention for June 09'?
