Default Carnival Liberty

Hi new to this site...

Off on Carnival Liberty 25th Aug 09 sailing from Dover, UK...

Can anyone tell me what this ship is like? having only sailed with P and O (and one 2 nighter cruise with RCI on Nav of the Seas) wanted others perspective on this ship?

Many thanks

Not sure what you would like to know, but we just got off the Liberty and this was our 2nd time on her. The food was outstanding. We went to Harrys but the dining room food we felt was even better!! (Harrys is the specialty restaurant and cost 30.00 pp.) Our waiter was the best we have ever had!!
The ship is very clean and the staff were friendly, and helpful. We like the pool layouts better on RC, but they are fine. The new putt putt course is very nice. We were the first sailing to have it.
We had our first balcony cabin (aft). It was clean, big and loved the balcony.
Casino was a bit smoky, but they did have non-smoking slots.
The shows were so-so. Some good, some we left. The comedian the first night was terrible, but a few nights later they had one whose name was Eddie. Went to both his shows, and he was excellent.
The singing group Boardwalk are great. Carnival needs to give them more exposure!!! Pool band was ok. Piano bar was always hopping. The first time on this ship no one ever went there. This time he was good.
We usually ended up at the Casino bar.
Only food we didn't care for were the fish and chips. They were soggy.
Any other questions let me know and I will try and help out. Hope this helps some!!!

We sailed on the Liberty in January 2007 and are scheduled for another seven day cruise in June.

Personally, I find little to criticize about any ship - each ship is individual, but I find them all enjoyable. Service was wonderful and the dining room was excellent.

I will disagree with Sunlover about Harry's - we loved the ambiance, food and especially the music. Nice to be able to dance during dinner and, if your course is ready while you are enjoying a mambo, they will hold off delivering it until everyone is back at the table.

Good grief, thats a new one to me dancing at dinner time!!!!!

Am looking forward to this cruise but have two to do this year on P and O's new ship Ventura, a 16 night cruise in Aug and a 14 night cruise in Oct.

Keep looking at others reviews of Liberty

Is Liberty a more relaxed style cruising to P and O, I like being able to wear my evening dresses and OH his Tux I guess the dress code is the same?

Just got off the Liberty from a 8 day cruise. Both me and my friend really enjoyed the ship. Harry's is fantastic. Main dinning room is great for breakfast. Layout of the ship never made the ship seem to busy except getting off in ports. Now we did find the dinner in the main dinning room very hit or miss. I would say 4 of the 7 meals in the main dinning room we really enjoyed. The other 3 went from so-so to worse then a tv dinner. The service aboard the ship was great all around. Really my guest and I biggest complaint was the place they had the shows was always so warm that we skipped most of the shows and the ones we did see were lame. But even with that being said I really enjoyed my time aboard the Liberty and would book again. I would just budget extra money for more nights at Harry's. The presentation of the food at Harry's was so nice I even had to take pictures! My suggestion is try and not use the lido buffet especially for breakfast. My friend and I really enjoyed breakfast in the main dinning room one of the highlights of the trip. Every morning we would meet nice people at breakfast. Oh also avoid pasta dishes.

I do have to agree the ambiance and decor of Harrys is wonderful. Could have just been our meal, but my lobster was better the night we had it in the dining room.

Hi Sunlover, I'm soo glad I found somebody who loves Music Boardwalk. They are my favorite band and I have seen them 3xs. I agree with you that Carnival needs to give them attention. I can't wait to book another cruise with them. I'm always calling to find out what ship their on. They sound just like the originals even better. Don't you agree? Mary Ann

Did Enrique remember you? They're very good at that.... My favorite song is Stairway to Heaven. I love everything that they do but that's my favorite. I hope to see them again this year or next. Did they tell you how long they will be on the Liberty for?? Thanks for the info Mary Ann
