Wireless laptop connections while on Ports (free Wi Fi)????

We are going to the Western Caribbean in May. One of the guys going with us has to take his laptop for his College class credits and he needs to download and send some of his papers. We know that the connection on board can be very expensive and I did read somewhere on these boards of places in port that has Wi Fi.

We will be in these ports:
Grand Caymen
Belize
Cozemel
Roatan
Does anyone know of a place(resturant, pub or bar) that has free Wi Fi ?

I don't know about free, there are certainly internet cafes just about everywhere.

There is one just about next to the cruise ship in Roatan and Paradise Beach on Cozumel is supposed to have internet access.

Don't know if they let you just plug your laptop in or not.

Not sure I would want to lug a laptop ashore and also have to worry about securing it when not in use.

There probably is some free WiFi.

Honestly, I didn't think the internet minutes you can purchase on board were that pricey. Sure, it's much more than you would pay at home, but to worry about securing your laptop when not in use in port can cost even more if it gets "lost". IMO buying minutes onboard is similar to having insurance for your laptop while on vacation. No worries of theft.
