Default Bahamas Excursions

Is it best if I book my excursions now or can I wait till I'm there and book them? Is the Atlantis Aquaventure worth $149.00 a person?

**Atlantis adventure** Be among the first to discover a new world of fun and excitement on this full-day Atlantis adventure.

On this excursion you will:

Disembark a short distance to the Atlantis Resort.
Begin with a 20-minute water ferry ride through the historical harbor of Nassau to Paradise Island.
Be escorted on a tour of the grounds as you discover Atlantis.
See the exhilarating new waterscape of pools, water coasters, body slides and rivers, making it the largest water-themed attraction in the Caribbean.
Explore the resort’s 141-acre waterscape comprised of 20 million gallons of fresh and seawater with more than 50,000 fascinating sea creatures.
Feel the magic of a fabled world long lost in time as you explore the maze of archaeological ruins called The Dig.
Conclude your tour at the Day Visitor Center, just beyond the Royal Towers.
Ride the four adrenaline-inducing water slides among a mile long rapids and wave river.
Experience the thrills of the towering Mayan temple’s five water slides and the 7-story Power Tower.
Grab an inner tube and join the fun!
Spend the afternoon relaxing in the warm tropical sun, plunging into the refreshing waters of a swimming pool or pristine beach.
Enjoy the formal splendor of the Royal Baths Pool or the relaxed atmosphere and fun of the Lazy River pool.
Have lunch at one of the several outdoor or indoor eateries and spend the rest of the day as you like.
At the 7-acre Paradise Lagoon, you can arrange for non-motorized water sports and rent water bikes, kayaks, water hammocks and snorkeling equipment.
Visit the Caribbean’s largest casino or embark on a shopping expedition and stroll through over 20 colorful shops in the Marina Village.
Note: Complimentary lounge chairs, towels and life jackets are provided. Convenient complimentary return transportation is every half hour starting at 1:00PM with the last complimentary bus at 5:30PM. Guests may take a taxi at their own expense after 5:30PM. Meals are not included. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the water slides. Lockers and non-motorized watersports rentals are available. Swim diapers are required in all pools and attractions for young children and infants. Shoes, sandals or “aqua socks” are strongly recommended, especially for children. Swimwear with zippers, rivets buttons or metal ornamentation is now allowed on slides. Pregnant women and guests with heart conditions/back injuries are not permitted on the slides. Be advised that many of the outdoor restaurants and snack carts are “cashless” and only accept credit cards. Cash is accepted at other venues, including all indoor restaurants, bars and shops. Gift cards can be purchased with cash for use in “cashless” areas.

**Due to timing considerations, this excursion may not be available on all itineraries. Please check your cruise profile for the shore excursions available on your itinerary.

I wish you would have gotten a few responses as I am also wondering the same thing. We will be on the Imagination in June and wanted to go to Aquaventure. The $149 seems steep, but I also was wondering if it was worth it.

Had some tablemates on RCI last year who did this exact excursion...They said it was great and worth the price. It is definitely a full day so you might have to watch your time a bit if you have an early dinner seating. Of course, any excursion is subjective and just depends what you are in to...They especially loved the water slides

I believe the cost of just the ferry ride to and the dig and time at the casino and gift shop is a lot lower priced. I believe its like $59. No water slides. Not my idea of fun. but I know the kids love it. but thats a steep amount for a water slide too. Also our cruise on the Glory isnt in Nassau all that long. So the shorter version is best for us. I hear its well worth it too. Check it out.

If you visit Atlantis on your own, you can purchase tickets to tour The Dig for $29.95 (last time we were there). All areas of the hotel are accessible for day visitors except the pool and beach. Wow! $149 is a pretty steep price to pay for a day pass which allows access to the pool, slides and beach. We visited Atlantis on our last cruise, toured The Dig, dropped some money in the slots, had lunch and walked over to a public beach and spent the rest of the day there. The beach was beautiful, chairs were available for rent, soft drinks, banana boat rides, etc. A taxi ride from the cruise dock to Atlantis is $4/person one way.

If you have more than 2 people going, check out how much it would be to get a room at Atlantis. I've seen a room as cheap as 250.00 for 4 people and then you can use the grounds all day.

We will probably visit the casinos and do some shopping. Might do some bottom fishing also. I personally think the excursion is too steep but what do I know

That was a great idea about getting an hotel room. We have a party of 10 going...I am wondering how many people we can get passes for per room. I am thinking even if we got 2 rooms, it would be cheaper than the $149 each. Has anyone ever done this? What else would you recommend we do while we are there?

I have personally called the 1-800 number to the Atlantis hotel. You can get 4 people per room. The extra 2 people can get a day pass from Atlantis which I think is $75.00 pp but these passes are first come first served. I have also heard of people booking the Comfort Suites which is right next door and still have the option of using the Atlantis grounds. My advice is to call Atlantis directly. It was obvious to me that they are well aware of the fact that cruisers are booking their hotel rooms just to use their facilities. Just beware that you MUST get back in time to the ship before it leaves. They won't wait for you. If you book through Carnival they won't leave without you.
