What are the rules for booze on the Carnival Glory??
When can you bring it on and in your room.
Can you ever?
What if you hide it in your suitcase?
Any ideas/experiences??

I bring mine wrapped in bubble wrap in my checked luggage with the plastic ties for locks. I believe you can bring on so much wine as well. Another tip I learned last time is the travel size or so bottles of booze are allowed on the boat without them being confiscated!!!
You are not to bring any on the ship other than a bottle of wine
per person.
You can try and hope it gets to your room if they find it they will
take it.
If you go to carnivals web site it tells you everything about that
there.
Even if you buy bottles on the ship they keep them till the night
before you get off the ship or the ones you buy on the island.
Bring bubble wrap for any you buy on the islands and want to bring
home. I think you can bring two home but they have to be packed
in your luggage.

The link below is what Carnival has in their FAQ's. I have brought booze onboard both at embarkation, and when returning to the ship from port. I put it in a carry-on, and run it through the x-ray. They have a sign posted to give it to a guy at a table. He is usually not paying any attention. I just take it with me to my cabin. Every port has a different set of rules for bringing back booze. You will need to check out the policy for Port Canaveral. It has been awhile, and I don't remember what the rules are.
Have fun.

I am to understand that if you put it in your CHECKED luggage and lock it, it will get to your cabin okay.
Get smaller plastic bottles, they have them at the Wine and Spirits stores. They will be sealed and put them in zip lock bags, just to be extra safe from leaks.

And where did you find this pearl of wisdom?
The size of the bottle does not make any difference.

Spring Break varies across the nation. It can start as early as March 1st and end the middle of April. Our schools had it the week after Easter, my sister's schools did it the week before and our friends are on break this week.
If your luggage is locked and they suspect large amounts of liquor in the suitcase, they can or will hold it and ask you to come to the Customer Service desk to open it, take the goods and give you your luggage.
I like the idea of the plastic travel size bottles. We always put things we don't want broke in DH's dress shoes. We keep them in the shoebox and on our return trip "stuff" the shoes with breakable items; shot glasses and nic nacs, never had one break yet.

I know NCL does (and quantity doesn't matter), and I know Carnival can, but have never heard of Carnival actually doing on any regular basis or even seasonally.
I know that it is not allowed but I've not had or heard of a problem with bringing your booze on board in your checked baggage. I've seen people try and fill up water bottles with liquor and i've seen the bottles just by themselves. I would not worry about it.
My brother once purchased a huge bottle of Scope mouthwash, dumped the liquid out and replaced it with rum...the only problem was his rum and cokes tasted like Scope but he had great breath!
Liquor stores sell plastic bottles of liquor such as rum etc. I buy one each cruise to bring my drinks up a notch. Sometimes I don't even open them and take them home since I buy alot of drink coupons.
"Lock and Load" I love it! Zydecocruiser, I have a feeling we would be great friends.... So glad I have a great mentor to look up to! I plan on trying to do just that on my first cruise this summer.

What are drink coupons? Are they cheaper than buying drinks there?

I never purchased - never thought they were worthwhile:
Bar Credit (4 Drink Cpns)
Although your friends are going on a fabulous cruise "Without You!" you can still treat them to a drink. They'll definitely thank you for it! $21.25
I got onboard with 110 airline size bottles in January. I ended up giving them away as party favors every evening during the cruise. I still brought home about 30. I thought I was really cute by getting through security with all those bottles scattered through my luggage, then my group leader came back on in St Thomas with 2 BIG bottles of Capt. Morgan.
I think the cruise line(s) are really trying to slow down the underage and irresponsible drinking. The security is lots tighter during spring break, summer, and christmas holiday cruises. That pretty much leaves January and October to cruise. (Icy runways or Hurricanes) If people would quit falling off the ships, it would help !.

Are you saying that the crew at the port let your group leader back on board with 2 bottles of Capt. Morgan on St. Thomas as a carry it on? All I wanted to do was maybe get a bottle of wine to carry back on board at a port or 2. It looks like I will have no problem????
It all depends on the crew member who is supposed to confiscate liquor. Like any other line of work, some take their jobs very seriously, others don't really care. So, it depends on chance. I've seen people walk on with bottles of booze...no problem, but have also seen them take bottles of water and sniff to make sure it isn't alcoholic. Let's face it, they know all the tricks that we do and more.
Non issue for me, as my weekly bar tab tends to be under $10...I like alcohol, but it doesn't like me.
Marty the boring
Colorcrazie Marty hit the nail on the head, It depends on the security guy at the desk when you come back on board. Some get sticky, some don't really check that close.
The real points to remember are, Don't take any booze out of your cabin in it's original package, drink like your mother is watching, tip your room dude very well.

You know, I just have to admit, this is one of my favorite posts to follow! I am learning so much and will know how to smuggle my booze before my first cruise. Or atleast I think I have been learning how to pull this off; the true test will surely tell in August.
