Default claustrophobia

Kept thinking of my inside room on the Freedom in December, finally broke down and called my TA today and rebook for a couple of balcony rooms.
PHEW !!!! relief.

Very smart move Kojack!

I think I'd feel the same way in an inside cabin. You'll truely love and enjoy your balcony cabin, well worth the extra money IMHO.

Have fun!

I was only in an inside cabin once. The only thing that bothered me wa not having window. I love the light coming in from a window, or a balcony, Also, seeing the port as we sail in. I never felt claustaphobic, but that would depend on the person...

Yayayayay, I am glad you are a happy crusier:)

You did good. Now you can be assured that when you feel boxed in you can hop out onto the balcony and watch the sea and feel better...

Inside cabins may be cheaper and some may choose to go that way for money or other reasons, but a balcony is truly the best thing the cruiselines ever did when building a new ship!

Hmmmm....this will be our first cruise and we booked an inside cabin with a guarentee. So what is the chance we will be upgraded to a balcony? Yawll make it sound so much better.

Your chances of an upgrade to a balcony are next to zero! I've sailed over 100 cruises, mostly booking inside guarantee, and have only been upgraded to a balcony once. We have been upgraded to an ocean view several times, but that too is honestly quite rare. If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about it. There are advantages to an inside cabin. You can sleep in the afternoon to get ready for a "rock-n-roll" night. You can take the extra money that you saved, and pay for 1/2 the next cruise. etc. etc. etc.
Have a GREAT cruise.

We've always booked an inside cabin when we've traveled in a group with my birth family. This year, we booked an extra cruise for September, and I wanted to go for a balcony this time. We've also booked the new Eastern Caribbean itinerary on the Conquest for next February, but that's inside again. I'm sure this balcony booking is going to ruin inside cabins for me forever!

my first cruise on the liberty was a balcony, just DW and I now we have the 3 kids with us on Freedom, thought we'd take a couple of insides, but just could'nt, i just love the fact of being able to be in my room and see outside.
do'nt think i can ever settle for an inside.

Our first cruise was in an inside cabin. We didn't like that you never knew what time of the day it was because there was no window. Our next cruise we had a balcony. Once you have a balcony, you'll never go back! 8)
