The most you have seen won in the Casino???
Im not much of a gambler. I was just wondering...what is the most you have seen any one win in the casino? What were they playing?

We are going on Glory.

I haven't won squat!! My boss was on NCL recently and was just sitting at a slot machine waiting for another one he wanted to play to open up. While he was sitting there he played the one he was just sitting at, he won over $20,000.00. Now, that slot machine was a $100.00 machine and I believe he put $300.00 in it before hitting the jackpot. It was a 12X something. All that happened on the first night of a 7 night cruise. My luck never happens that way, of course most of the time I'm sitting at a nickle machine LOL

I've never seen anybody win anything of great value. The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) has hit the slots for as much as $200, but ALWAYS puts it right back in. You always hear about so-and-so winning big bucks in the casino, but I've never personally seen anyone hit really big. We once shared a dining room table with the director of security at one of the major hotels in Las Vegas, and he was asked what the best way to win in the casino was. His answer was to go in the front door, and walk right on through, without stopping.

How much was won in a Casino
I don't think I've ever seen a $100.00 slot on a cruise, If I did I may of played it ! I did win $4000.00 the first night of the cruise on the Liberty in a 2 coin $5.00 machine right by the cashier window. I was in Heaven
and unbelievably, that machine hit two more times on the cruise, neither one was me but that's fine, I already got mine !

I personnally won 67,000$ on the Triumph in june of 2005 playing carib. stud I hit a heart royal flush. They gave me 5000 in chips and the rest in cash when I disembarked. The casino hostess asked me if I wanted cash or a check.

When you win big, do they have you fill out any tax info? I guess since you are not in U.S. waters, it might not be required.

Floridanamaw April 11th, 2008 06:14 PM

My boss said that they did not take the taxes out right there. He got the whole amount but had to sign paperwork to claim the taxes. I'm the IRS will know he won that money.

I won $595.00 on a 25 cent slot on the second night of my first cruise on the Conquest in 2005. The same night, my husband won $400 on blackjack. It wasn't a lot but I was excited. It paid our sign and sail card and we had money when we got back. :D

I crusied the Destiny from Nov 25 - Dec 2, 2007, on the first night at sea I won $1000.00 on the one dollar slot machine "Wheel of fortune"

mlschef April 11th, 2008 06:40 PM

On the first night of my first cruise I won $1600 on a $1 machine.
Maybe it means nothing, but most of the people that I've seen or talked to who won a good bit of money did it on the first or second night.
Also, about a month after the cruise I did get my notice from Carnival that my winnings had been reported to the IRS.

psgoodwi April 11th, 2008 06:53 PM

Me and my husband just won bingo for $900 and I was worried about filing for taxes. I was told that there was another bingo on the last night for $1199 and I was told that if you win $1200 or more than you have to file for your taxes. My husband also won $300 on a penny slot machine.

I recently started playing roulette and really like it. I'm looking forward to playing on the Fascination in a week. Not a huge gambler of my money, but a few hundred dollars now and then is fun.

Katmom April 13th, 2008 10:18 PM

The first time I ever played Blackjack, I played "Funshuip 21" on the Imagination. I started with $20.00 and pretty much played all night, and left with over $500.00. It was not much, I know, but I was excited!!! The pit boss actually came up to me and told me he was impressed!

I found that if you play when they are not really busy, the dealers are more then happy to help you out and give you advice on how to play.

I have not won since on a cruise

Kat in GA April 14th, 2008 03:19 PM

We won a small amount - we spent $40...and my husband won $75 and I won $50. Not a bad return!

I did see a woman win a BMW at a slot machine on the cruise. Not sure how she'll collect her prize. What makes me even more that this same woman who won the car, also won the free cruise in Bingo! It was her lucky week :-)

auggiejerz April 14th, 2008 05:37 PM

I wont $500 plus on craps my last cruise and saw others at the table win what looked like 2 grand or more. Would be nice :D

michelenorton April 15th, 2008 05:02 AM

I'm a wimpy gambler.. and I don't like to lose.. so I don't bet enough to win big, usually..
I take my little $20 and if I win $30, I put the $20 back in my pocket.. play my $10 and leave.

My husband does a lot better in the casino, though..

He plays "Let it Ride" on every ship we go on, and always does well. I'm not sure of the skill level.. but he always yells about how "some dealers are better than others" and if he's losing, he has to walk away.

I know when we were on our Mexico cruise in February.. he was doing so well, the casino manager came and stood behind him for awhile.. and asked him a bunch of questions.

That was kind of nervewracking!

mouche April 24th, 2008 01:26 PM

I won $600.00 on the 25 cents slot machine Wheel of fortune and I kept most of it, and lost about 150.00 of it through out the whole cruise. I had only played about $30.00 before winning 1st night.

TommyB April 24th, 2008 06:11 PM

Someone won 66,000.00 on the Freedom last week while we were on playing the $5 slots!!!

CruiseNOID April 24th, 2008 06:32 PM

I am one that has this insane luck on winning. When is the best day & time to play the slots? As soon as we board the ship, midway through the cruise, or towards the end of the cruise?

I hear ya CruiseNOID!! Luck follows you everywhere. Maybe I can get a little of that luck during our cruise.

ferrangi April 25th, 2008 05:38 PM

Do they have a crap table on the Pride and if so, what is the min bet?

Also, I heard people win more during the first day or so is it true?

Will the casino be closed at all ports??

And one last question... how late does the casino stay open?

misguidedangel April 25th, 2008 08:23 PM

Personally, I tend to donate to the casino fund and no take anything but fun memories home. My mother on the other hand is a cheap gambler and will limit her gambling to no more than $40 a night. My mom won $1800 on a two quarter/play slot machine on the second night out. It basically paid for her whole cruise cost!!!!! All but $300 was cashed out and kept. She was nice and gave me $100 and took the other $200 to buy cheap n cheerul goodies for folks back home because she only took $1000 total spending money.

I'm going to be brave and play the $1 and $5 machines on my next cruise to see what happens!

CruiseNOID April 27th, 2008 06:24 PM

Remember misguidedangel......You gotta invest a little to work for that good payout.

Joe323 April 29th, 2008 02:31 PM

I came in second place once in the slots tournament. They gave me $50 and a T-Shirt The money is long gone but I still have the T-Shirt.
