I haven't won squat!! My boss was on NCL recently and was just sitting at a slot machine waiting for another one he wanted to play to open up. While he was sitting there he played the one he was just sitting at, he won over $20,000.00. Now, that slot machine was a $100.00 machine and I believe he put $300.00 in it before hitting the jackpot. It was a 12X something. All that happened on the first night of a 7 night cruise. My luck never happens that way, of course most of the time I'm sitting at a nickle machine

I've never seen anybody win anything of great value. The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) has hit the slots for as much as $200, but ALWAYS puts it right back in. You always hear about so-and-so winning big bucks in the casino, but I've never personally seen anyone hit really big. We once shared a dining room table with the director of security at one of the major hotels in Las Vegas, and he was asked what the best way to win in the casino was. His answer was to go in the front door, and walk right on through, without stopping.
I don't think I've ever seen a $100.00 slot on a cruise, If I did I may of played it ! I did win $4000.00 the first night of the cruise on the Liberty in a 2 coin $5.00 machine right by the cashier window. I was in Heaven
and unbelievably, that machine hit two more times on the cruise, neither one was me but that's fine, I already got mine !
I personnally won 67,000$ on the Triumph in june of 2005 playing carib. stud I hit a heart royal flush. They gave me 5000 in chips and the rest in cash when I disembarked. The casino hostess asked me if I wanted cash or a check.
I won $595.00 on a 25 cent slot on the second night of my first cruise on the Conquest in 2005. The same night, my husband won $400 on blackjack. It wasn't a lot but I was excited. It paid our sign and sail card and we had money when we got back.

I crusied the Destiny from Nov 25 - Dec 2, 2007, on the first night at sea I won $1000.00 on the one dollar slot machine "Wheel of fortune"

On the first night of my first cruise I won $1600 on a $1 machine.
Maybe it means nothing, but most of the people that I've seen or talked to who won a good bit of money did it on the first or second night.
Also, about a month after the cruise I did get my notice from Carnival that my winnings had been reported to the IRS.
Me and my husband just won bingo for $900 and I was worried about filing for taxes. I was told that there was another bingo on the last night for $1199 and I was told that if you win $1200 or more than you have to file for your taxes. My husband also won $300 on a penny slot machine.
The first time I ever played Blackjack, I played "Funshuip 21" on the Imagination. I started with $20.00 and pretty much played all night, and left with over $500.00. It was not much, I know, but I was excited!!! The pit boss actually came up to me and told me he was impressed!
I found that if you play when they are not really busy, the dealers are more then happy to help you out and give you advice on how to play.
We won a small amount - we spent $40...and my husband won $75 and I won $50. Not a bad return!
I did see a woman win a BMW at a slot machine on the cruise. Not sure how she'll collect her prize. What makes me even more jealous...is that this same woman who won the car, also won the free cruise in Bingo! It was her lucky week :-)
I'm a wimpy gambler.. and I don't like to lose.. so I don't bet enough to win big, usually..
I take my little $20 and if I win $30, I put the $20 back in my pocket.. play my $10 and leave.
My husband does a lot better in the casino, though..
He plays "Let it Ride" on every ship we go on, and always does well. I'm not sure of the skill level.. but he always yells about how "some dealers are better than others" and if he's losing, he has to walk away.
I know when we were on our Mexico cruise in February.. he was doing so well, the casino manager came and stood behind him for awhile.. and asked him a bunch of questions.
That was kind of nervewracking!

I won $600.00 on the 25 cents slot machine Wheel of fortune and I kept most of it, and lost about 150.00 of it through out the whole cruise. I had only played about $30.00 before winning 1st night.

Personally, I tend to donate to the casino fund and no take anything but fun memories home. My mother on the other hand is a cheap gambler and will limit her gambling to no more than $40 a night. My mom won $1800 on a two quarter/play slot machine on the second night out. It basically paid for her whole cruise cost!!!!! All but $300 was cashed out and kept. She was nice and gave me $100 and took the other $200 to buy cheap n cheerul goodies for folks back home because she only took $1000 total spending money.
I'm going to be brave and play the $1 and $5 machines on my next cruise to see what happens!
