Fantasy-New Orleans Terminal question

One last question before we leave tomorrow.
We took our small rolling cooler with canned drinks onboard in Galveston a couple of years ago - no questions asked.

Anyone RECENTLY on the Fantasy from New Oleans, been able to take their sodas on board as carryon. I don't want to get there and have to leave my cooler and drinks at the terminal, and I sail tomorrow.

I wouldn't even bother, except we have all the grandkids this time.

We were on the Fantasy in Jan. I did see them let some people in with soft side coolers. Not so sure about the hard side coolers, as I did not see anyone with one of those.

Boarded the Fantasy on the 5th of April with a six pack of bottled water and a 12 pack of Pepsi's. All carried on by my wife and myself. The water was in a soft sided igloo cooler. Rick

Thanks, I will go ahead and take my soft side rolling cooler then and hope for the best.

What is a small rolling cooler? Probably you should plan on checking it with your luggage.

Carry on is limited to 12x12x12 - it has to fit through the x-ray machine.

I actually saw the 12x12x12 info just before we left and decided to just skip the cooler. My daughter brought hers and it was a little larger than this. I was packed with non-chilled bottled water and had her son's luggage tag on it and she checked it in with his luggage.

When we got to the area where they scan the S&S card to go on board, his card would not scan. He was pulled out of the line (age 15) and we all waited to see what the problem was Security showed up and said there was a problem with his checked luggage and he and my daughter had to go with them. When they got there, she was informed that he could not take the cooler of water on board, but she could take the water only. She grabbed a few bottles out and put them in her carryon and left the cooler to be picked up on our return. Glad I didn't take mine after all.
