Default Whats yours?

OK, we all LOVE to cruise but we each have our favorite thing to do on a cruise or our best part of cruising.. Mine is just sitting out on the deck and listening to the water at night.... So very relaxing.....
Whats yours?

Since I am an early riser, I loved going up on deck at around 4:00am with just a cup of coffee and relax. Nobody around -not even the wife- to bother me.

Mine is being totally away from my phone, pager, and computer. I also love the karaoke, and being able to be a part of the passenger talent show, or "Legends" show.

Well, my favorite thing on the cruise is walking across the gangplank for the first time and just looking at awe at your first glance of the ship that is going to be your home for the next week or so! That makes it all real!

after that, is sitting by the pool with a fantastic book

Having dinner in the dining room, then a nice show afterwards, after a full day of sun/fun! Then sitting out on the balcony just before its time to turn in, everything is completely black and tons of starts, the sound of the water hitting the ship, doesn't get any better than that.

Finding a quiet spot on the deck looking out at the ships wake as the sun sets and just reflecting on how blessed my life is and how fortunate I am to be enjoying every moment of it.

I know this sounds horrible, I love my son with all my heart, but it is nice to have sometime alone once and awhile! He is only 15 months so he is too young to take with us, but for the while I can enjoy being able to READ a book, or GO OUT to dinner, or even GO DANCING and to a BAR lol I almost feel like a 23 year old and not 30 something!!

I am really glad to have him young though, this means I will still be very young when he moves on!! Only 40!!!

The total escape I feel from the regular, everyday world. Of course with cell service and wireless internet, that total escape isn't as total as it once was. Thank goodness for that "off" button on phones and computers.
My favorite single thing would still be standing at the rail and just watching the amazing blue water move by. Very relaxing.

We usually go in the dead of winter-so getting away from the single digit temp and howling Alberta clipper and stepping on the deck in southern Florida, looking out at palm trees and sunny beaches, and having my embarkation pizza and brew (brewS) so everything is right with the world (for a week or so anyway)

I love having people taking care of me... no grocery shopping, no having to think about what to cook for dinner.... no worries....
I love being about to walk around with an alcoholic beverage and go anywhere I want on the ship without them confiscating it.
I love that there is always something to do, and should there be a little break in the iterary... guess what? It's nap time....

To settle myself by the pool, get everything set the way I like it. Read a book, and people watch....Nothing better:)

At night after dinner having a nice peaceful walk on deck with my wife. That walk is even better when we do it after midnight. Very cool.

Convincing the wife that we are not too old to make use of the balcony at night.

oh jeeeeeeeze..
I must be sheltered.. but I never thought about that "balcony" thing..
Gosh.. I gotta keep my husband away from that message thread!!!

Since I travel with little kids, usually.. My favorite part is dropping the kids off the first time at Camp Carnival..

I'm usually the one doing the "happy dance" back up to the Lido deck the first day...

I'm very blessed that my kids are able to go to such nice places.. and have a childhood I never had.. but cruises are also the best way for me to get MEEE time.

I like the balcony at night when its late and the only thing you hear is the water washing up to the ship. It makes you feel like youre in the middle of nowhere.. which I guess you are! I also like the first moment you realize the ship is moving when you leave port to start the week.

Of course a cup of java on the balcony as the sun rises is heaven!

I love the excitement of planning my cruise. I really love going with someone who has never been. Loved going with my friends last year. Now they are hooked.

I love leaving a messy cabin and coming back to a clean one.
I love not prices on the menu at dinner.
I LOVE the food.

After reading about all the surveillance video that NCCL has of the individual who went overboard recently, I have to admit that I am now concerned about privacy issues.

Subtropic-I didn't know the Alberta Clipper headed that far Southeast!!!!!!! You are very welcome for it, us Albertans enjoy sending the cold weather away in winter in favour of the warmer weather.

My fave thing is just sitting on the balcony watching the sail in/out. I cruised in February with my mom and niece. Needless to say, mom snored the minute she fell asleep and all night long, with sporadic breaks (lasting less than five minutes). I awoke around 5:15am on Grand Cayman day and tried to get back to sleep, nope, snoring was too loud. I got up, did the usual bathroom trip (and grabbed my hair band) and just sat on the balcony. I watched us sail in from one end of Grand Cayman all the way until we docked over an hour later. I loved that, it was awesome watching it get light out and sail past the whole island. I let them sleep in until we anchored offshore then I woke them up.

Anytime spent on the balcony enjoying the solitude is a good to me...That and strolling around the deck late at night from midship to the back and around!!!!!

Sleep is for home, when on holidays I am there for fun.....
