Fantasy is in dry dock (maybe not actually dry) for most of September.

First cruise ship scheduled for Costa Maya is end of September. Carnival currently isn't scheduled to return until December with Carnival Glory.

Many businesses have reopened in Mahahual and the port should be ready before September.

I wouldn't be surprised if a ship or two sneaks in before September.

It could, but Carnival has not indicated anything. They may be waiting to see where this year's hurricanes go.

Oh I hope we get to go to Costa Maya on our next cruise.
We will just have to wait and see. But at lease the Fantasy will be
done by the time we go.

Find what out? What ships are scheduled for Costa Maya?

Dunno if I'm allowed to say, but what the heck.

On vacationstogo you can specify a port you want to visit and it pops up cruises based on that criterion.

Cheryl,

We've chatted before, and you told me about your sis. So are y'all doing the Blog2NOLA cruise? I'm booked. I'm serious about getting together, let me know when you will be in town.

2 hours from Baton Rouge.....around Amite, or Robert???? Or is it toward Opelousas...or Jennings????? My college roommate was from Jennings!

Melody -- not booked on the NOLA cruise - although I wish I were. I live an hour from Lafayette - right where the eye of Andrew hit!

OOOHHH! Now I know where you are! Andrew was tough! And it made life at the Department of Social Services a little chaotic. Katrina just demolished us and Rita buried us. We are now up and running with better plans for evacuating, housing and feeding citizens. We train every year and are grateful when the season passes with no threats. I'm told this year will be one to watch.

We were on the Fantasy last week and our Maitre D' stopped at our table several times to talk to us. He said the Fantasy was getting a $70 Million make over at dry-dock in September (work to be done in Mobile). Of course this includes the Evolutions of Fun Water park area and Serenity area, but he said the pool would be larger and the dining rooms completely redone. He also said that one dining room would be set up with assigned seating as usual and the other would be open dining. Apparently, Carnival must be trying a new concept here. He said the menus will be changed including desserts, but the Chocolate Melting Cake will stay on the menu daily.

Now if I could find out when the Sensation will be done
