Default Conquest Class - Aft oceanview cabins

Has anyone stayed in any of the aft oceanview cabins on a Conquest class ship?

I'm particularly interested in 2470, 2472, 2473, 2474, 2475, 2477 not the regular shaped ones. But any info for this area of the ship would be helpful. Is the layout weird? Is it noisy in these cabins? etc.

It will be my third time on Conquest and I'm trying different locations each time. Also I'm sailing with a relative that will not step foot onto a balcony so we won't spring for cat 8A or above this time. Luckily for me, DH and I have a balcony when we're on her in February.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Im not sure of all those cabin numbers. But many are oversized OVs, larger than the regular 220 s.f. cheap way to get a aft view without paying for a balcony? The corner cabins are the oversized ones and one on each side has the extra window.

I forget how much larger they are than a regular OV, but they are definetely bigger. You will hear the thrusters in and out of the ports, so not for someone who sleeps in on port days.

We are booked in 2470 on the Conquest for Feb 2009. We are also curious about the cabin layout. Our PVP said it was a prime cabin. We very much enjoyed our aft cabin on the Ecstacy ao we are hoping to have as good of a time on the Conquest!

We were in cabin 2470 on the Glory in 2006, and it was HUGE! Our cabin steward said that it was as big if not bigger than a suite. It's 2 windows and odd shape added to its spaciousness! The only negative was that its location made for a very, very long walk from the show lounge at the front of the ship. With that being said, it was an AWESOME cabin for the price! You will love it!

We stayed in Cabin 2470 on the Glory in 2006. It was absolutely HUGE! In fact, our cabin steward said that it was easily the size of a suite, if not larger! It had 2 windows and loads of walking room in the middle due to its odd shape! We occasionally heard the "humming" of the engines, but it actually lulled us to sleep each night. The only negative was that it was a long, long walk from the front show lounge. With that being said, it was an AWESOME cabin for the price! You will simply love it - just like we did!

Thanks for the reply QueenB1. I am looking forward to that particular cabin. My mom and sister are leaving out this Sunday and I hope they can get us pictures.

I chose 2477 bcuz I wanted more of an aft view than a side view; looks like we'll get both to some degree as we are in the angled corner of the back of the ship. Now I kinda regret not booking 2470 as it sounds so great.

Oh well, 2477 doesn't look much smaller and I do like the idea of seeing the wake trail behind us.

Thanks for all of the info so far

That is exactly what I was thinking Snoozeman. My inlaws are also cruising with us, they have booked a balcony, and I thought this would work out perfectly. Ther is plenty of room in our cabin for 4 people to hang out or dine in. If we want to enjoy the balcony, we just go to their cabin! Lots of space for the dollar (and the luggage)

I've going to try to post some photos that I took of Cabin 2470 when we were on the Glory in 2006. I'm very new at this so let's see it if works!

thats what i heard....im scared of aft. I loved our table mates in the dining room but that aft wake had my chair vibrating thru each dinner and not in a good way.

My friends took our Jan cruise with us and got a killer suite in the aft. She threw up for a couple of days during rough seas. She finally had to come to my cabin which was in the dungeon on the riveria deck, lowest you can go and mid ship. She couldnt believe how quiet my cabin was and STILL. just a gentle rocking once in a while during the worst.

I really LOVED the riveria deck if your just looking for ov. It was so freaking quiet and so close to the departure area for port days, one flight and your there.

I love midship and always request it, mostly due to my fear or having to excercise too much . and that its usually gentler. I get sea sick on smaller vessels like yachts, but am fine here.

good luck, and i appreciate your wanting aft cabins, i've really wanted to try them too, but afraid i'll yack.

Whe we booked our first aft cabin last year, it was because of the view that we wanted it. To be able to look out the back of the ship at sunset was wonderful. We never closed our curtain, we wanted to continually see what was going on behind us. Of course, we did not realize that the ship had reversed in to port in Progresso. Good thing we were on the Upper deck...most people on the pier were not looking up. We woke up and looked out the window still dressed in our night clothes , and did not expect to see people...right there!
Te real bonus to us in an aft cabin was the vibration. We probably have never slept that good. It really came in handy because I started getting sick the night we boarded and I think the great sleep helped me to feel a little better a little faster than what I would have. So....I am glad some of you don't like aft, it leaves them available for us aft junkies! lol

We were on the Valor, deck 8 Varandah in the AFT cabins with the extended balconies....OH MY GOODNESS We loved them

There was a little noise from the Lido right above us. No problem falling asleep at all. There was no motor noise or other noise, unless you think that the sound of flowing water from the boat is noise. I loved it, very relaxing. If you shut the balcony door, all noise is gone from outside.
