I was wondering the same thing. I bought one set so far, I like the idea of having some of the expense pre-paid so that we don't have too much at the end. I compared some of the drink prices on the drink menu Zydeco Cruiser posted so I could see what drinks I could get with those coupons. The coupons also include the tip so that give a little bit of savings. I look so forward to getting a nice fruity drink and looking out over the ocean...
I buy the drink coupons all the time and do it just because I do not want a bill at the end of the cruise. I purchase the fun ship dollars for on board credit and usually get a check at the end of the cruise if there is any money left over not spent on the sign and sail. We just came back from the Glory where they charged me 80 cents along with a coupon on my sign and sail for each foo drink with extra liquor in it by the the lido deck. At dinner they excepted them for any sort of drinks even high end for my fiance' and myself.
You do not save any money but is sure helps with the budget. My fiance' likes to buy the fun ship dollars and just let them deduct his drink bill from that total but I always use the coupons. I usually purchase so many that he ends up using what I have left over so he lucks out. I also buy the photo coupons if I plan on getting a few pictures.
