Default BUMPING! ?? about camp carnival!

Ok, so i already know that they have a group for 12-14 yr olds BUT last Jan when we went, NOT a single 12-14 yr old joined. boring! Not to mention he'd rather die than flirt with girls and go to the teen disco!!!

My son is on the immature side of 11 now. He'll be 12 in late sept, but hey still calls me mommy when no ones looking. He'd fit in much better with the 9-11 yr olds. Most of the nieghborhood kids are around 10 that he plays with.

How much trouble will the give me if he asks? He'd be so disappointed as he LOVED camp carnival in january. Were only looking at 3 1/2 months since his birthday...im nervous, he's already talking about the sleep overs and scavenger hunts!

perhaps when he's 13 it will be different.

Thanks ya'll!

I am not sure if they will let you are not. I know that my own son would not attend from 12 on and he still had great times.

bumping hoping someone will have found themselves in this situation before. Its so important to my son that he get to "play" with other kids and not have to act more cool then he really is.

Anyone???? please!

On our last cruise, our dauugher wanted to be with the lower age group. She was only 4mos. past the age limit. They would not let her be with the 9-11 year olds. Hope you have better luck. I don't think it would hurt anything since it is only a few months, but I guess the rules are the rules. Enjoy your cruise!

thanks for the input i think im just nervous that he wont have fun on his own. He made lots of friends in Jan, but if he's forced to join the other group, i doubt there will be any kids there at all, or if there are, they might be much "faster" then he is maturity wise.

He's a small kid too, only wieghs 70lbs and is about 4'7", one of the smallest kiddos in the group. Plus it was so fun for him to have the sleep overs till 4am, even tho were early to bed ourselves, he is a night owl!

Oh well, i'll just have to wait and see...wonder if i can email the person in charge now and get an email confirmation? lol. I'm a planner!

My neice is 14 and likes to hang out with her sister who is 16. I was also hoping they would allow them in the same club area. We are sailing in five weeks so I will find out for sure then.

if sailing on carnival it really depends on the club o2 director my sister is 13 and we just got off the fantasy 3 weeks ago and they let her hang out with me some during the day but at night she wasnt allowed in the club. but nurseypoo all i can say is just go and talk to them explain to them what the situatio is. but if he is going to be in the 12-14 group he will love it i know my sister did and she isnt that social either. i had to force her to try and hang out with some girls her age. haha but she had a great time when she went =]]

Last year on the Victory, my 12 y.o. grandson wanted to be in the 10-11 yo group to be with his cousin..plus he is also on the smaller less mature or street wise side of 12 and they let him. I guess it just depends on the Camp Carnival director. I think it also dependson the number of kids they have in each group.

It won't hurt to email Carnival and explain the situation to them before you go.

It truly depends on the Director.

And the Director bases that decision on many factors.

For example, if there are 600 kids in 9-11 and only 50 kids in 12-14, then he will have to go to 12-14.

They did make an exception for our son when he was younger because he has a form of autism. They have always been wonderful with him.

I would go to the Camp Carnival orientation and talk with the Director. Unfortunately you will not have any idea of the number of kids and how they are allocated until you arrive. But if the answer is no, just understand that they have a reason.

As for Club O2, the rule is 15-17. Again, as with any rules, there are exceptions. If your 14 year old is in high school, have them bring their high school ID. If she is not in high school, I do not see them making an exception.

They deal with this on every cruise and do their very best to accommodate when they can.
