Two Way Radio Recommendations

When my daughter and I go on our cruise in December, I would like to purchase some hand held radios so I can contact her. I am looking recommendations for and compact radios that work well in all areas of the ship.

we bought some for our jan trip with our son, they were great (until he took it in the hot tub with him...that wasnt so great)

we got them on ebay, brand was cobra 8 mile radius i believe (could be 4, but i think 8) we only paid like 15.00 plus shipping or less, but cheap. we could have gotten 3 of them for 8 bucks more but i didnt think we needed them, now i wish we had, we all wanted to carry one then the other one drowned and we had only 1, which ofcourse was worthless :)

search ebay, the guy had a great rating and sent them to us in less than 3 days. He was great, and had a 99% rating with thousands sold.

good luck!

I think you will be hard pressed to find some that will work all over the ship. There are dead spots on all cruise ships. The good news is that they will work in most places. Everytime we cruise we take ours. The 8 mile cobras are a good radio I think they only put out 2 amps. I use the Motorola 25 mile 5 amp radios. It's a little more power to help get you through the dead spots. It doesn't always happen though. Try Best Buy .Target or wal-mart.
