Does anyone have pics to share on these cabins? Most especially verandah or empress?
How much privacy do you get and how much debris gets tossed on your balcony? Noise? Couch and or upper bunk included? What about rocking?
My hubby wants something new, and im a little afraid of the movement in the aft and the gawkers. I dont want a balcony that just anyone can throw ciggerettes down on us or stare at me when i'm trying to read and drink coffee in my robe.
The chances of anyone gawking at you are slim. On Lido deck, the very back (stern) of the ship is a big floor to ceiling window--probably to support the magrodome that covers the back of the deck). If anyone is going to gawd down to you they'll have to rapell from Deck 10 down to your deck to say hello....As for garbage flying over the deck, no control over that happening as people sometimes don't pay attention to the written or verbal warnings about not throwing trash/cigarette butts overboard. Veranda Deck might have some noise from the stern part of Lido, but as to how much, I can't tell you because I prefer to stay right by the glass elevators!!!!
You will enjoy the Conquest, she is a wonderful ship!!!!!

Most of the Aft balconies, Carnival and Royal C., are extended. You have lots of privacy because the most of the balcony is recessed under the balcony above. Out near the rail you have NO privacy from the gawkers above, but you have to walk out there. Depending on the angle of the sun you can get a real nice all over tan without worring about cabinpeepers.
You can still lean out to see around the divider to the next balcony, but you can do that on any balcony, side or back. Very little debris comes down from above. Most people are couteous enough to care about that sort of thing. If I am in a aft balcony above you, please watch for flying corks after the lifeboat drill. This is our champagne sailaway party, and we let the corks fly aft into the water, commiting themselves to the deep.
If you have have the means, try to book a 9A on Carnival. These are the corner balconies, with wraparound verandahs, some with 40 feet of railing and walkway. The balcony is not real wide, but very long. My daughter had 4 of her friends out for a tanning afternoon, with plenty of room to spare. This balcony is not priced in the online, your T/A must contact Carnival for availability and price. Go ahead, JUST DO IT.

I had read someone on this board that these cabins only allow 2 persons....and the pics i have seen on such sites as webshots.com i have not noticed a sofa, just a couple of chairs and a table.
The Conquest is getting re-furbished in Jan 2009 so hopefully that will include the aft cabins.
