Default Noise in cabins

I have read in these topics about noise in your cabin that you can hear from a deck that is above you. Typically is there also noise heard from the level below you? The deck that might be below me has the lounge where the shows are performed and the casino. Any info would be helpful.

It depends on where your cabin is located. I've never heard anything on my cruises except when sitting on the balcony and my neighbors though it was funny to have a who could break wind the loudest contest.

Life is too short to let the ship of your dreams sail without you.

The older fantasy class ships will have some engine noise. The newer ships that have the Azipod propulsion system where the engines and propellers are in a pod under the ship are might quieter. As for other noises on The Miracle I heard nothing except my roomates loud snoring until I got ear plugs. But then he could have drowned it out lol.

My cabin was under the promenade too.

We always try to get cabins above and below us. However we were just on the Legend and had deck 3 below us and did not hear a thing. We were one deck above the disco.

You don't say which ship you are sailing on...but I know the Conquest class has a problem with cabins directly above the piano bar... especially if they have a "slammer" (piano player that slams the lid).

There have been some (but fewer) complaints about the cabins above the piano bar on the Spirit class ships.

The Spirit class casinos do not have cabins above them...so noise should not be an issue. I can't remember the layout of the Conquest. Anyone above the main theater will have quiet after the midnight show is over.

Hope that helps.

If it is Carnival and it floats....we have sailed it!

On the Conquest, our room was directly under the bridge and we could hear electric motors running through the night.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.

Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.

Way up in the bow and on low decks on Conquest class ships, you'll hear quite a lot of machinery noise, as well as the anchor chain and thrusters going into, and out of port. I usually avoid the bow cabins, on low decks if possible, but I'll take them if nothing else is available. (Sure beats staying at home!)
