Default Most embarrasing Cruise Moment

I feel like laughing so lets hear everybodys most embarrasing cruise moment. Did it happen in your room? In the dining room? In the show lounge? Did you fall down?

I guess mine was more of my girlfriends moment. On our cruise in January she got out of the shower and went onto the balcony naked. (Not sure why). Right about that time the cabin steward knocked, didnt get an answer so he walked in. Guess you know where I am going with this right? Anyway, she goes back into the room and of course didnt know the attendant was there and he got the the story of the week for all his coworkers. She screamed and and looked to cover up but couldnt find anything quickly. The attendant was embarrased as well and tried to escape and while doing so tripped on my girlfriends beach bag and almost took a huge header. He bailed out of there quickly after that. I only caught the last few moments of this spectacle but I couldnt help but laugh my butt off at the whole episode. She was mad at me for a day or so but by the end of the week we both thought it was hysterical. Moral to the story? There isnt one I guess. Just enjoy yourself and dont sweat the small stuff. It made our trip that much more memorable!

Thats really funny. I was thinking that I didn't have an embarassing story, but reading yours made me think of mine. Though not as funny, here goes.... One day I was in the room changing out of my swimsuit to take a shower. When my husband got up to go to the bathroom a minute or so later, I turned to talk to him and realized that the door to our room was wide open and I was naked! Luckily it was during a time when everyone was out doing stuff and not in the hallways! If anyone saw me they were quiet about it because I never heard anyone walk by.

Okay this story starts out great. My hubby and I went on a 4 day cruise out of long beach CA. We booked a gty oceanview (6A) and got upgraded in a major way to a CAT 11. My hubby was excited about the room and we began to be "friendly" with each other. We had not put the "do not disturb" sign on the door. All of the sudden the female cabin steward walks in. That was quite a shock of all of us. Needless to say she decided to leave quickly and come back later. I better the cabin stewards have the best stories.

It wasn’t my most embarrassing moment it was actually my son’s. When he was 14 we were on Explorer of the Seas and docked in Saint Thomas (I think). After staying up half the night he was in no mood to go on any shore excursions with the rest of the family so stayed in bed on the ship. This just happened to be the day that the ship was exercising its emergency drills. When all of the ship’s alarms went off he was jolted out of a deep sleep. In a state of fatigue, confusion, being only halfway coherent and not exactly knowing what was happening his brain is thinking “Titanic” so he jumps up grabs his life vest and goes haul butting out the cabin, down the hallway, down the stairs and out to our lifeboat station. Several crew members saw him and went running after him as I guess they have seen such a thing before but didn’t get to him till he was at our muster station. He was mortified to say the least once he was clued in that this was only a drill. The rest of the trip it seemed that every crew member on board knew him and would acknowledge him or ask how he was doing whenever they walked by.

Default EMBARRASSING MOMENT

I took my mother-in-law on a cruise soon after my husband died. She had been diagnosed with mild depression and had a mild case of Alzheimers. In the formal dining room, on Captain's night she seemed to have some emotional situation happening and dug into her purse for what I thought was going to be a tissue. Instead she pulled out a "mini pad" and began wiping her nose. The poor dear has since passed on, but all in my family still chuckle at this event.

Okay, this was my sister.
They were getting ready to do a "horse race" no one knew what is was when they asked for volunteers... since my sis had that crazy hat on, they called her up, and 5 others some young, some older.
They gave everyone a horse on a stick and said when your number comes up, you have to gallop that many times.
When you are done yell.... "Yeeee Haaaaw"
It was hilarious.... I doubt she'll jump up so easily next time.

Here's the link, by the way prior do the race they all had to prance around with the horse between there legs and try and get people to bet on them. She was horse #1 and came in 3rd place.

Well, this was flattering to me but embarassing for my son. When we were on Sentaiton in July/Aug 2007, we went up to the Sports deck late on the first afternoon. There had been a short downpour which delayed the Lido deck sail away party. We wanted to played a round of mini golf. Some of the holes had water in them and it was challenging to get the ball in but that made it more fun! It was very windy and my hair kept blowing all over the place.

Anyway, the staff member who gave us the balls and clubs told me she thought we were brother and sister, not mother and son. I loved that, Ian hated that (he doesn't WANT to look older than he is). I was 48 then and Ian wa 14, so for her to think we were both in our 20's or something like that really thrilled me. I'm usually thought to be around 30. It embarrassed Ian to be thought of as being so much older.

I explained to him that teenagers are supposed to want to "be" or "appear" older and that us "older folks" want to "appear" younger than we do. HE didn't get it. I know that if I had a daughter instead of a son, she would have been thrilled to be thought to be 20 something!

When I was 12 my parents took me on my first cruise. I guess at dinner I ordered the "rabbi" instead of the rib eye steak. My dad, 16 years later still has not let me live this down. Give me 3 weeks and I bet I do something worse.

Not sure which one was the most embarrasing, both are pretty well up there. On 2 different cruises about 3 years apart I was chosen by different comedians to go up on stage. Naturally both times was on the first night of the cruise and that meant I would be plastered on the video diary segments for the next 7 days. The first episode I ended up wearing a gold jacket and the huge rubber head of hair that was to make me look like Elvis and sing a few Elvis tunes. That was pretty embarrasing. The second time he actully pulled 3 different passengers on stage and the audience voted by applause to detemine who had to perform, the problem was no one knew what the performance was to be. Well the majority of the nice passengers applauded for me and I had to put on this wild and wooly long braided wig and sing Motown tunes. This time though the comedian ask if there was someone special in the audience that I would like to sing to. Yes I did pick my wife out of the crowd and now the spotlight was on her. By the time I finished the tunes she had buried her head in her lap. I apoligized to her in front of the audience, but I had to get the spotlight off of me for a little while. Eveyone who attended that show new both of us by name the entire cruise. Hopefully these things won't happen to us again!!

Two years ago on the Spirit we had a group of us that cruised. My other half and my friends husband both went up for the hypnotist show and needless to say were picked to do some really funny things. My guy (6'1 200lb) had a big yellow rubber duck and was the 'lifeguard' of the pool and my friends DH did Shaina Twain. Needless to say we were in tears during the show and bought the DVD afterwards and have had many good times showing it off when we have gatherings. Of course the rest of the cruise they were noticed. Can't wait to see if there is a hypnotist this next time around.
