How full is my ship??

How can I tell how many cabins are filled on my ship so far?

I ran across a topic earlier where someone mentioned what % of their ship was booked, but I can't figure out where I read it now.

There is no way to know how full your ship truly is. Many travel agents book blocks of cabins, cruises are being cancelled all the time and CCL will book a cabin up to two days before departure.

The ship is full when lifeboat capacity if full not when all cabins are sold. Also, the ship always holds back a few cabins in order to relocate passengers in case of a maintenance, safety or appeasement issue.

Also, with Carnival booking guarantees, there are always passsengers who have not been assign a cabin until they get to the ship. This means that even as one category or the other is closed out, there may still be empty cabins in the category or passengers booked in that category that have not been assigned and may end up with an upgrade.

BTW, the ship will ALWAYS post a "SHIP FULL" sign behind the Purser's Desk on Embarkation day. It prevents hundreds of passengers from asking to change their room.

If you want to get an impression how full your ship is go to Carnival or other travel site and pretend to book it. This will tell you if they are still taking booking. Also put or ship name with "" around it to see if any group cruises appear under that ship name. I can check it if you want I like pretending I'm booking a cruise and since I don't have any booked I don't think I will be cruising for a while.

Every cruise we have been on the sign said we are full. I they are or not the sign will be there.

I know on those sites when I looked, all aft cabins appeared to be taken. Those are usually the first to go - and unless you specifically ask for one, you might not get it.

Okay I'm looking right now at carnival site availble CATs are:
1A, 4A, 4B. 4C, 4D, 4E, 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A, 8B, 8C, 8E, 8F, 8G, 8H, 8I, my dream cabin 9A (on upper, Empress, Verandah, and Panorama), 11, and 12. So it looks like a lot of the oceanview cabins have booked. No AFT balconies left, but these are normally the first to go.

I couldn't find any big groups booked on there.

I am curious about the Splendor for July 25. We were offered an upgrade with a price (which we took) but should I be asking for some more concessions?

I just went to Carnival website and acted like I was booking a cruise. The site shows all the room CATs I can book. From there I can have an idea of what was booked. But as someone said sometimes TAs book blocks of rooms if that is the case it will show up as booked but may not be. This is a best guess.
