Default The Back of the Ship

Has anyone had their cabin along the back of the ship? How was it? I am going the last week in July, and we just got our cabin assignments.

Very popular cabins. Very surprised that you would have one 'assigned' as they are usually taken by request. Enjoy!

We have found them to be bumpy.

What used to be less favorable cabins it seems years ago, are now the most popular area, usually selling out fast.

I had an aft cabin, and had smooth sailing.

front, aft, top, bottom, sleeping in a life raft, its all the same to me.. as long as the weather is good and the seas are calm then it really doesnt matter what part of the ship you are in.. if it did then many rooms would sail empty week to week and cruise lines would design things differently..

The poster didn't say if it was an aft balcony,,,,or a back of the ship inside. If it's a balcony,,,,very, very nice. If it's an inside on a low deck...RUN,,,,RUN like the wind. It'll be very, very noisy!!!!!!

Shame on me, I assumed aft balcony as that's what came to mind. Bet it is an interior aft. I've had interior afts though and they were just fine. More noise from the linen closet being opened and closed that from the ship. Won't book the one all the aft again.

I've had a cabin at the back of the ship, the very back, can't get anymor aft then the aft! I found it noisy (since the ropes to tie the ship off where one deck above...) and the ship did bob up n down quite a big...

I prefer a balcony cabin or a suite near the central atrium. I like having 10 elevators at my beck and call at anytime.....If I had no choice I'd take an after wraparound balcony, but I still like the central atrium Deck 6-10....

Default Back of ship (aft)

We were almost all of the way back and had no problems. It was nice as all we had to do is walk up a few flights of stairs and we were on the Ledo deck eating (close to the food).

We have had three aft ones and they have made the DW ill as we spent time in them. Sea sickness.

We just came off the Glory, cabin 1456. It was excellent, as long as we were in port,,,,but when underway there was a constant, very loud groan and droan of noise. The faster the ship went, the louder it got. The only good thing about it was, since the ship was full, they couldn't move us, so they gave us a VERY generous onboard credit. The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) ran,,,,not walked,,,to deck 5 and had a wonderful time spending all that money...If,,,,and that's a BIG if,,,,they would give me the discount, or credit every time,,,I'd be happy to take that cabin every time.

I agree with JazGal the Aft balcony cabins on Deck 7 are great, I've had two of them, bigger balcony than standard balcony. If I had my choice, I'd choose Aft Balcony every time. By the way JazGal, you look like a lady I dropped on a dance floor in Port Canaveral a year ago, lol!! Bill

Aft cabins, IMO, are the best. I don't see how they would be 'bumpy' since it right over the props and if it was bumpy there, can't imagine what the rest of the ship was like. Unfortunately for those like me and prefer those cabins, they have become too popular and are getting very hard to get.
Try the aft 'corner' suites!

We were in U226 on the Ecstasy last November and absolutely loved this room. Loved to look out at the wake behind the ship. We had no trouble with any extra noise or bumpiness. It was a great room. Here is a picture out the window:
