Default Carnival transfers or take a taxi?

Which do you prefer? Is one cheaper or faster than the other? We have preveiously done the transfers and are thinking about taking a taxi if it is a better altenative... Thanks!

Depends on what port and how many people. For example, in Miami or FLL where taxi is plentiful, there is no need for cruise line transfers. Taxi will be faster and if you have 4 people in your party, about 2 times cheaper.

In Miami, we did both and it was close to the same price.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.

Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.

i will never EVER use Carnival's transfer service again. they caused me to miss my plane in 2006.

i have found the taxis to be much cheaper if you are splitting it with other people. and much easier.

In Miami take a taxi or if you have time super shuttle. Do NOT use Carnivals transfers unless you like dragging your luggage around or fighting with the ME First idiots

Taxi. Then you don't have to wait for the bus to fill up, or for the other busses to unload before they let you out.

If you have more than 2 people the taxi is almost always cheaper.

I have used the transfer both ways. To the porta nd from the port. I suggest taking a cab to the port and getting there early. The transfers Carnival does leave later and you get to the port when most people are already on the ship. The transfers post cruise are OK, I have always had plenty of time to get to the port with oodles of time to spare. The trick is to let the pursers office know you have a early flight and need to be off the ship in the first group, or better yet, self assist debark!!!!

To port--cab
From port--either depending on flight home!!

Unless it was imperative, as it was for us in Galveston, we never take the transfers. Waiting for the bus to fill, getting hit with suitcases as people walk past...hot, & cranky) We always take a taxi.
