Default how many bottles of Alcohol you are allowed to bring back?

Does the State of Texas (Galveston Port) have a limit on how many bottles of alcohol you're allowed to bring back from your trip. I dont care if I have to pay taxes on them, I just want to be able to bring them back. I will be going with 5 other 20 somethings so asking them "bring back" my bottles is out of the question, as they will be bringing back their own.

I don't think there's a limit, as long as you can carry them off. The duty free limit is 1 liter per person, so you'll have to pay duty on any bottles over that. I'm pretty sure this is accurate.

Texas allows its citizens to bring one litre only. If you are a resident of another state or country, you are allowed more.

I live in Texas, but how does the customs agent know that? My passport does not have my address on it. Do I need my drivers license?

The customs agent is federal he doesn't care care as long as you declare it.

The one litre rule would be enforced by the State of Texas. They may or may not be there to enforce it. Usually not there.

Good luck.

If one of your ports is in the Virgin Islands (such as ST. Thomas) you can bring back 5.
