Default Cruise Insurance

I am sure this question has been asked many times on this forum, so please forgive me. We are booked on the Valor 9/21/08 and have not
purchased travel insurance yet. I also got a military discount, been out of service for a longggggg time. Is it better to buy the insurance from Carnival or a private company. If from a private company any suggestions
Thank you all for your input which I am looking forward to
Wipala

Go to Insuremytrip.com. If you purchase thru Carnival, they are only going up against themselves. I ALWAYS insure thru someone else. Happy Cruising!! Post a reply when you get back!!

I use Travel Guard. I like them because they have a 24 hr number that my family here can call if they need to get a message to me. My dad is in an alzheimers facility and his health is failing and I do not want them calling the ship at $10.00 a min ! I always have my cell phone too but there are select times that it does not work. That is just a benefit for me.

Always book the insurance through a 3rd party. The CSA has a good policy. Look for them at the website insuremytrip.com Bob

Check out the above mentioned website, and use the side by side comparison option, to see exactly what you will be getting, make sure you look at medical, being medivaced off a ship is $$$$$, and that is a must.

I didn't get insurance on my first cruise 2004. Got it for my 2005. Didn't get it for 2007 or 2008 and worried to much so I purchased it through Insure your trip for my 2009 so I have no worries. I didn't like how I felt with the worry of not having it just in case an accident happened or I got ill on board or at a Port.

Thanks to all that replied, have checked the sites and they indeed are lower than Carnival. Have sent email to both to ask about trip refunds and so forth. Will let the forum know what I find out.

Remember, one of the most important features to look for is the medivac insurance in case you need it. Bob
