Default Carnival Valor - 11/2/08

I will be cruising with my 2 nieces (8 & 13) and nephew (6) on the Carnival Valor on 11/2/08. Just trying to determine what the chances are of other children being on board during that time so they won't be bored. Has anyone ever traveled during school term and taken children out of school for travel & what was the experience like?

I am sure you will find plenty of other kids on board. It seems to be something families do a lot more these days (at least than they did when I was a kid ;-)

I'm on that cruise, and while I am not cruising with kids, I know that NJ has a really short school week, and there seem to be A LOT of kids from there sailing with us.

Even if there weren't, Carnival always has lots of kids and with Camp Carnival, your children will have friends to hang out with!

The couple of times that I've cruised for more than 4 days during the school year, I didn't see very many kids. I wasn't particularly looking for them, but you can usually guage the kid population by how crowded the hot tube and pool is.. lol

Thanks for the advice. I've heard from cruise critics that week is a break week for NJ so I think there may be a few kids to keep them company.
